I don’t see a reason to have the soft clay rocks or the new farming patch to have such high reqs. But possibly make it so the quest has high reqs so that low levels wouldn’t have access because of the quest and not mining/farming levels directly. (The farming one is the bigger issue because locking a patch to a farming lv when u can plant at herb patches elsewhere doesn’t make a whole lot of sense)

I have yet to try the Inferno, but is there any concern that the proposed crystal armor would lower its difficulty a decent bit? The armor has superior range defense (higher than bandos or justiciar) with no negative offensive bonuses. This would essentially give you tank armor with a reduced risk of splashing. For context, full justiciar has a -77 magic attack bonus. Full crystal would give +0 magic attack bonus.

Again, I haven't attempted the Inferno, so I'm not entirely sure how big of a concern this would be.

Love the look of everything, my biggest fear, however, is that either the Crystal Armor will not be a reward worthy of completing the Gauntlet, or the gauntlet won't be that difficult. I would like to see the gauntlet be on par in difficulty to Chambers of Xeric, but the rewards would have to reflect this difficulty. Some questions regarding the Gauntlet:

Is it meant to be a repeatable minigame that you farm, similar to Raids, or more like the fight caves, where you do it once to get the reward, and then only do multiple for pet hunting/slayer/personal reasons?

Will the crystal armor be tradeable? Will it only be equipable by those who completed Song of the Elves (similar to the other crystal gear)?

Will the Crystal Armor interfere with Avas devices as platebodies do? If it doesn't the lack of negative attack bonuses could make the armor overpowered in the Inferno/ for ranged/mage tanking. One suggestion to prevent this would be to give negative bonuses to range and mage, but boost the bonuses to the crystal bow, making the crystal armor +bow combo potentially the new ranged tank meta, but preventing the armor from being overpowered to those using a twisted bow or blowpipe.

Will the boss of the Gauntlet have a pet drop?

Questions regarding other aspects:

Will there be a teleport added to a spellbook, or another equally easy method of reaching Priffddinas? If the only method of reaching Priff is via house teleports there, this may make the Construction skillcape more overpowered than it currently is.

Will Zalcano offer competitive skilling rates in all three skills, or primarily one skill with small amounts of experience in the other skills (similar to Wintertodt giving firemaking, woodcutting, and fletching xp, with a focus on competitive firemaking rates)?

Thank you for listening! Keep up the good work

How do we vote? What exactly is this poll blog. Why has there not been an in game poll in months?????

I guess I imagined voting in a poll a few days ago. (Which is probably still up in the poll booths.)

The blog is basically just to give us a heads-up on the existence of the above questions along with giving a better explanation than there's room for in the poll itself. When the poll goes live, you'll get informed about it the next time you log into the game as usual so you know to go to a booth to vote.

I'm quite disappointed in some of this.

The main thing I have issue with is the crystal skilling equipment. I don't think anyone wants to see the most efficient skilling being locked into one area of the game for a bunch of skills.

Without having detailed info on how easy/difficult these crystal shards will be to obtain, the crystal equipment definitely feels like a powercreep. How long will the 120 shards take to gather? Exactly what activities within the city are capable of obtaining the shards, and about how many/hr?

Lots of questions, with few answers.

I'm also not a huge fan of yet another herb patch being added to the game.

The crystal armour set should have a mediocre range attack bonus added to it in my opinion. We're talking an effective range bonus from the set effect of about +23 (in maxed range gear other than the set), compared to +63 from armadyl pieces in those slots. This probably needs to be some kind of 'effective bonus' rather than a straight bonus, to not create broken tank range gear. I also feel this set needs to have a negative mage attack bonus. This will completely break the triangle if there's no negative mage attack bonus, due to how accurate magic already is.

As it is, you can mage in armadyl vs a meleer and out DPS them in a lot of cases (tons of factors, so not always). If you eliminate their trade-off of poor defensive capabilities with no negatives...we will end up with 'needing' something similar to the EOC to 'fix' mistakes.

Please no.

Everything else seems fine, no major complaints on the overall pitch. The Skilling equipment and Crystal armour just feel like glaring oversights to me.

No, we´re pushing the game forward way too much without proper reasoning and despite im not against new content and quests by all means it still feels like it doesn´t belong into OSRS, at least not yet in my opinion.

I would like to copy/paste the questions as I provide feedback, but they use up essentially all of the character limit. I will refer to the questions by number and try to keep this minimal.

Q1 (Yes)
Hard new quests are always good.

Q2 (Yes)
I'm confused by this one. Is this question asking if you should add the city, or is it asking if the city should be quest locked?

Q3 (Neutral)
Is the PoH location being added as a convenient teleport location? I think the teleport crystal should provide that function, instead.

Q4 (Neutral)
If these trees are not added, I think the sawmill would be somewhat silly.

Q5 (Neutral)
Is this sawmill further from the bank than the Varrock sawmill?

Q6 (Neutral)
I think there should be a fruit tree patch instead of an herb patch.

Q7 (Neutral)
If Zalcano is added and gives fairly decent experience rates for Mining, then I think these soft clay rocks should require 80 Mining, instead.

Q8 (Yes)
Reading the description reminds me of Stealing Creation, without the other team locking you in the base. I quite like the sound of it. Perhaps a group version without unique drops would also be interesting.

Q9 (No)
This actually is why I decided to provide feedback. I can't say much about the stats, but the process of obtaining this equipment needs to be further explained, or altered. Adding another currency to force players into another zone-based grind is cruel. I think it should just cost coins to turn the seeds into the equipment. We could buy the materials (not the seed) to make it for less cost with the listed skill requirements, or pay to have an elf sing the seeds to life.

I also do not think the seeds should be tradeable.

Q10 (Neutral)
More information would be nice.

Q11 (No)
I am not a fan of degrading tools. More importantly, these are made in the same way the armour is (see above for that feedback).

See you at the polls!

The crystal armour sounds like an amazing set of tank gear that I can use while maging, ranging, or meleeing. That actually makes the armour somewhat problematic, especially in the pvp setting. It seems to break combat triangle rules. If we’re going to have that be the case, then the set should reflect the triangle’s weakest bonus set (ie, magic) so as not to be incredibly overpowered for mages. It should be comparable to Ahrim’s, but considering we want it to be tank-y gear I’m okay with slightly higher defensive bonuses while lacking offensive bonuses.

Zalcano already sounds really annoying to solo, but we’ll see when I get there.

I’m also not sure how I feel about the crystal equipment. We have the crystal saw that gives us an invisible +3 boost to our stats, so I guess I think it’s a little odd that instead of the crystal equipment doing something similar it is best-in-slot mining/woodcutting/harpoon fishing equipment.

I actually think our dragon equipment is okay where it stands. I’d be more interested in seeing crystal equipment repurposed into something more along the lines of lightweight tank-y gear. Maybe it’s a degradeable enhancement on graceful, where it gives a small defensive bonus but at a loss of how much weight is reduced/graceful’s set effect? I’m mostly pitching this idea because I think it’d be cool to run around in this armour while doing clue scrolls instead of dragonhide or something. Just an idea though.

The Gauntlet sounds fun. It’s my kind of PvM/Skiller’s challenge—be as incredibly resourceful as possible in order to face the big baddie (and win).

I’d be in favor of a special patch here. A crystal tree patch? If we’re going with the pitched idea of gathering shards, depleting the tree would help collect a few shards. Maybe you’d need to imbue another tree with a crystal seed for this to work? The higher level the tree, the more shards you get.

Keep up the good work!

mr negative here as usual.

1st set of questions like everything else is basically for ironmen. Mains dgaf.

Look idk if you creators are all making ironmen accounts or something?? but you keep making everything ironman regulated is ruining the game for mains as its all based around ironmen. People have maxed and got through things fine how it is and always has been. People know what ironmen are expected off and as far I know thats what makes the challenge. ironman seems like ezscape to me now. I might even make one lol

Crystal armour-- Like come on who wants this? you wont poll bone whip but you think we want something that we already have barrows armour for and will devalue yet another end game equipmet - justicar.

Crystal axe etc etc etc. Dragons just fine as bad as this hespori boss pointless. (unless yet again you an ironman really for the bucket) we have inferno axes etc

Sort out what we have before this stuff please. Your other released content isn't even finished and you on about prif. All prif needs is another GE for higher levels so we dont need to listen to spam noobs or beggers.

gauntlet is just a noob tob. I do like questing though and you make badass quests. its lose lose regardless. But sort hydra out before and give us something to do with hydra tails.

Herb patches, for the love of Christ give ya farming guy another job hes bored!! we dont want more patches
