Marthella did some math on the cost effectiveness of the staff. He only accounted for one version of one spell. If we take into account the price as originally calculated BUT allow for a market substitution of LAVA runes which run 2gp cheaper on average and perhaps less if you can wait, that changes our calculated spell cost to
(13.929*202+5*3)/15=202.5772
While that still leaves us north of the original value, buying lavas at 2gp would fix that. Here's the real kicker though, a few very key lunar and Arceuus spell use nature runes with the same regularity of casting and in larger numbers.
Most notably the reanimate spells which have no staff component and all require at least one but usually two nature runes. For lunars we have the profitable crafting staples spin flax and tan hide (two and one) respectively though they do require elementals.
At that rate if you were going to reanimate 1000 bloodvelds:
1000(2*202) - 1000(2*202*13.929/15) = 28845.6gp saved or approx 29gp per cast
As for spinning your flax, the base cost shifts similarly but the the added cost of 5 air or rather dust runes.
1000(2*202) - 1000(2*202*13.929/15 + 5*3) = 13845.6 saved or approx 14gp per cast
Crafting strings at five per cast that improves your margin per flax by nearly 3gp ultimately negating the cost of the flax. Sadly with tan leather we run into the previous alch cost limit. Fertile soil and plank make fair even worse with a higher elemental to nature ratio.
With that, while not exactly a gods' send for those who like to snip the edges of their operationg cost (Basically everyone) and happen to be interested and have access to these spells it does offer a reasonable price shift.
Be well.
