So melee gets themselves a f2p club from the previous moss boss, yet when something is proposed for the magic skill, you guys make it p2p and pretty much useless. Typical..

Either reduce the stats of the staff and make it accessible for f2p, or, keep it mem's only and add f2p mage armor to the giants loot table, which is needed more anyway.
OSRS Mage Tank.

Believe magic to only be for support? Think again. It's just as valid of a Pking style as melee and range is.

I think the concept of killing a monster until they drop a key, then go kill the boss, has been overused recently. I think it would be a cool idea to possibly add another way or something slightly different. A cool concept I saw on Reddit was a map drop from the Moss Giants with a randomized maze that the user had to go through before fighting the boss.

this is a good oportunity to get new content for magic in free to play (like obor have a mele weapon drop), this new boss maybe a "good or decent armour" for free to play (they really need them what about the boss drops the armour from fist of guthix) and a staff that consumes all tipes of runes but alow free to players deal a small extra damage and make the combat triangle in free to play bether, also member can upgrade that free to play staff into "Bryophyta's staff" with the nature runes storage, and this will left a new oportunity to make a new bow / cross bow for free to play and a another "new boss" (maybe an ice gian boss would be awsome)

free to play need love to jagex :p we are ok in members right now

As an experienced F2P clanner and avid F2P pker, I feel some tweaks to the staff should include:

Ability to store water and earth runes
Any form of prayer bonus
The Staff should be 1 handed
Ability to auto cast Crumble Undead for F2P

Some tweaks to be considered should include:

Ability to roll for some form of damage from a bind
Damage increase as F2P Spells are not usefull

Here are some drops to consider in F2P that are hard to obtain in multiples:

Holy symbols
Anchovie pizzas
Green d hide chaps
Amulets of power
Adamant arrows
Monk Robes
Law Runes
Death Runes
Nature Runes
Wizards Robes
Rune Weapons

What exactly is the purpose of the staff? No one is going to use this... it's worthless.

No PvM players, Alchers, or PvP players are going to use it.

PvM / PvP - you're better off with a combo rune staff. In PvP, why carry 1000 nature runes in a staff when AT MOST, in one trip, you're probably going to use 50-100... And then you'll need to carry all the other runes with you anyways. You could have brought a mud battlestaff or lava and had unlimited water/earth / fire/earth runes and not needed to carry those runes in your bag, freeing up one slot vs. carrying both runes. And who cares about the melee stats? When have you ever seen someone use a staff for melee combat?

Alchers won't lose it because it's cheaper to use a fire staff and nature runes. Let's do the math.

1/15 chance to save a nature rune... current GE prices: nature rune: 202gp; fire rune: 5gp.

15*5*5gp + 13.929*202gp = 3188.658gp...... 212.577gp per cast.
0*5*5gp + 15*202gp = 3030gp....... 202gp per cast.

Even if the staff could hold 5000 fire runes and save those, it still wouldn't be worth it.
13.929 * ( 5*5gp + 202gp) = 3161.883gp..... 210.7922 per cast.

Unless my math is off - this staff is useless.

The only way the staff would be valuable is if the rate of saving nature runes was increased, or if the market price of nature runes increased.

Hi, F2P Clanner here. The staff is not useless for F2P wars, as binding helps a lot within the community. 1,000 casts in a clan wars portal is viable, and protecting item during a fight in wild is also viable. I usually bring 150 nature runes when returning to a F2P fight and can sometimes run out, as binds costs 2 nature runes. Also, Tome of Fire gives unlimited fire runes for P2P, so you can add that into your calculations.

Hope that helps and adds some insight into the usefulness of this staff for F2P.

What are the use cases for this staff? When would saving 1/15 of a nature rune be better than using an elemental staff? Not alching, as someone else pointed out, so where would this be useful? Old School Update Priority: Fix Broken Skills > Revitalize Dead Minigames > Everything Else

I can't imagine the staff will be used much 1/15 chance of saving a rune is pretty low with fires at 4gp each and alchs using 5 per cast you'll save 300gp with a fire staff over those same 15 casts instead of 202 for the one nature. There's also little chance it'll be used for anything else as a members staff.
