I'd really appreciate it if people stopped over-reacting and jumping straight to "not oldschool anymore, might as well add EoC".

If an idea is suggested and you don't like it. Great, good for you.

If that idea is then put to a poll to be voted on, vote against it.

That's kinda why we have the polling system. Vote for what you want. Don't vote for what you don't want. Vote for things you don't care one way or another about, but can see how others would enjoy it.

That's all there is to it.

I really don't want ZMI to be added, that'd be even worse than Godwars.

Stop trying to make things easier/faster, just stop it! we did fine runecrafting through the abyss for 4 years. I don't trust the outcome of this poll in the hands of the community. The feeling I have is that the majority of the players want faster methods to gain xp, without thinking about the consequences. Do you want your achievements to be something special or not? What's the point if someone suddenly can get to 99 runecrafting 25% faster? It'll once again devalue the progress others have made in the skill and degrade the milestone.

Runecrafting should once again be the hard skill it used to be, this would be a huge step in the wrong direction. What I'm especially worried about is the possible snowballing effect if this might happen (as if ZMI alone isn't bad enough). What's next? Ivy, lrc, bonfires, runespan, effigies, smoking kills, x all for skills such as prayer?

The Implementation of Godwars would obviously introduce too over-powered weapons/armour and make many money-making methods obsolete, because it's simply a better profit.

I just hope everyone will think twice before casting his/her vote... :|

when it comes to adding god wars, the main issue is the godswords, because of the way the combat triangle is in these servers.

there would be a return of mages getting totally shattered by meleers in d hide armor spec'ing 70+ straight thru our flimsy mage armors with an ags.

id say one of the other issues some people may bring up is the increased melee exp rate from using godswords for training, alltho based on how fast people have already been leveling combat, i cant see that being an issue myself.

i personally just think adding godswords would unbalance pvp quite alot, i know this was one of the main reasons i stopped pk'ing with mage after godwars was added to the main game.

plus you know people would just love an ags when trying to jump someone after they've just finished a fight.

The addition of the GWD would be a reason for me to quit this game. I only favour updates that do not make this game easier. So no to overpowered armour and weapons, no to the ZMI altar and no to the Varrock achievement diary.

If I wanted to play a game with easy XP I would play EOC.

someone said with gwd added( godswords) it would make melee over-power mage and leave it in the dust...first of all ice barrage would wreck people

and of course bandos, armadyl is higher power its a next step up from rune
(bandos was mostly equal in stats with dragon)
though it would be nice for mage to get a good armour set


i would really like to see gwd added

There are lots of comments about not wanting GWD to return. It would be massively useful if you could make sure you tell us why you don't want it to come back, and even better if you could tell us any potential solutions you may come up with to solve these reasons. No one says that GWD has to appear exactly as it did before. Remember, you are in control here.

My personal reasons for not allowing GWD to return in OSRS:

1- Top contender as economy engine:

I am going to ignore skillers in this argument as they are constant in both EoCScape and OSRS. Besides skillers, both games have their own major activities that drive the game economy. Jagex released all major updates, checks and balances single mindedly as PvM-centered in EoCScape to the point where, now it is an irrevocably a PvM driven economy for about 5-ish years. Wilderness and PvP is in ruins and utterly broken. OSRS on the other hand has ties to the old economy system which was driven by Pking for around 7 years. The top contender for money making should remain separate. PvMscape and PvPscape cannot co-exist without damaging each other's playerbase and activity levels. GWD was the main factor that started economy inflation and a large scale item hoarding trend. Players found ways to nullify all sink barriers and it became a one way trip to massive cash piles. PvP on the other hand presented riches as well as a sink. The top tier money making method should remain oldschool, reflective of how the game's economy engine worked back in the days. To nullify this concern, you'll have to move
all
rare drop table items from all the monsters from GWD into the uncommon drop table or change them to drop dragon items instead. Make the items low cost so GWD does not supercede PvP's dominant money making characteristic in old school.
