Honestly, my favorite song would have to be the Login music.

Why?
Because it's the perfect combination of symphonic meeting the digital age of the internet gaming world. This login music has become the cornerstone not only for Runescape, but for most of our childhoods.

It's smooth transitions between jovial frog-like beats, and grim organ undertones are capable of taking any listener on a thrill ride of fantasy and adventure, representing the highs and lows that any brave adventurer will be sure to face throughout his many and perilous quests in the land of Runescape. It's hypnotic melodies seduce the senses into a world-wind of mid evil possibilities and beckon the soul to online conquest.

I've played the game for over 12 years, having many various accounts, and the songs of Runescape have left a big impression on me; (especially considering I am a full time artist/musician and performer myself... having a band with my wife here in Music City USA {Nashville, TN}). I hope the title music wont be neglected from receiving it's throne as the crown jewel of the Runescape music world... yes there are many great tracks to be found throughout Gielinor* each with mind expanding possibilities of their own. A world of musical textures, compositions, techniques and colors not to be found elsewhere throughout earth await any listening ear that ventures past the log in screen.... however, it worth saying that the prophetic spirit of the main theme music of Runescape sets the expectation of adventure both musically and game-wise and in my opinion is the poster child for the excitement that unfolds with each and every quest.

It would have to be Tempest the newest track. I feel like it goes so well together with the whole Canifis Slayer Tower and being on the top floor fighting the gargoyles with the music playing is just something else out of this world. Definitely gives you a better feel for what you are actually doing in the game.

100% certain, barbarianism! My fondest memories of playing Runescape in my youth always have barbarianism running in the background :P I used to constantly switch to that song anywhere i was in Runescape when i wanted too listen to some music.

Now I'm a musician and I'm still amazed at the quality of this song!

My favorite song is: Fanfare

Back in the mid 2000s, my dad worked at a job that was 2 hours away from our house, so he would stay in an apartment near his job to work, then come home during the weekends. But, during Summer vacation, I had the chance to go up to his work with him these weeks.

My dad was working on his PhD during this time, so he did a lot of contract jobs at Universities. He worked with computers and did coding and aided with research in a University lab. He had his own private office tucked into the main lab, free from the noises of the day-to-day commuting workers.

In his office were 2 computers: One for him to do his job and another for me to play games on. My dad knew I played Runescape, since I was trying to get it working on our home computer with his help, so he liked to sometimes watch me play.

One day while I was playing Runescape, while my dad was working on the computer, I was in Falador when the song Fanfare played. My dad asked me what song that was and I told him it was one from Runescape. He liked hearing it and asked me to keep playing it, so I did. From there on, when he was in the mood for Fanfare, I could just click it in the playlist and have it loop. My dad didn't even play Runescape, but he was able to enjoy 1 piece of music from a random location in the game.

A memory I can recall the most from those Summers is when I was getting my attack level up to equip the Granite Maul. My dad stayed with me at his job until 4 A.M. just so I could train my attack level. He had a game to play himself, so he didn't mind.

The memories this song provokes are memories of my childhood and spending those Summers with my dad. We did just about everything in that town from going to arcades, going to the movies, roller skating, and eating out at restaurants.

To this day, my dad still has the Fanfare track in his iPod.

I would love to bring my dad to the UK and show him more about the game I still play to this day.

My favorite song is Dimension X. It stands out completely from the rest of the RS music. It's much darker, and it feels like something that would play while you're standing in awe of some unknown, inter-dimensional monster. It's a very simplistic tune, but it still manages to evoke a sense of mystery and dread.

So many to choose from, but I gotta say Crystal Sword . One particular memory is of going to Varrock Wilderness and trying to fight people, only to unfortunately lose my full black armour to a fire bolt casting mage. Despite this unfortunate event, the track's beautiful, brooding melodies and chord progressions really resonate with me.

#MyRuneScapeSong

Talking Forest
!

Years ago, I lost my membership and decided to try to make money. Mining gold in the crafting guild was the best thing i could think of. I turned on the area's music and the sweet yet sad melody played and I remember *walking* to the bank as if I had committed a great sin and I was banished to F2P to mine gold for the rest of my days.

Behold I am an adult and I pay for my own membership now!

My favorite track from Old School Runescape has to be "Al Kharid".

I remember starting out in Runescape back in elementary school. It amazed me how accessible a game could be that I could play it on any computer anywhere, and it was very popular at school and among friends.

I began logging hours into the game in competition with my friends, I knew very little about how to do things efficiently, but it didn't matter! I was having so much fun exploring and learning how the game worked, and everything was new to me! Slowly but surely, I became one of the "top tier" players among my friends in areas like combat and mining and felt so accomplished!

Part of this early era involved exploring new areas of the game, having no knowledge of them I was always concerned about dying to an NPC after an unfortunate incident involving the Dark Wizards of Varrok.

When I first crossed into Al Kharid, I remember paying the gate fee and hearing a brand new track of the same name. The track captured so many elements of what I was experiencing at the time; a bold and endangering theme that hits hard at the start, with elements of an exotic distant land personified in the instrumentation.

As I got older I noticed elements of the piece seem to draw influence from Indian Music. The tabla-esque drums, droning bass notes, plucked string instruments, and use of minor key bring to mind Indian Raga's (though not quite as long!).

I have since noticed the influence and references that various areas throughout the game correlate with various cultures throughout the world. If only I could see inside the minds of RS music composers in the most renown studio in the world to further my knowledge and application of the process... ;)

Even though my English isn't that great, I'll try to explain which in-game original music track is my favourite.
My favourite one is "FANFARE", if you would ask why? My answer would be something like; Nostalgia. I started playing runescape around 2004-2005, when I was around 10 years old. Now I'm 22 years old, 12 years passed. But I'm still here, listening to FANFARE on loop.
This song has something magical, because it's really linking whole gielinor for me.
I remember completing Tutorial Island like it was one of the hardest quest, since my English was even worse. And afterwards realising it was just the beginning of a whole new dimension which would mean alot to me in the future. Wandering around Varrock wizards, always trying to escape them.. Going to barbarian village, Falador castle.. Rescueing Prince Ali.. This song does have it all in them.

The Mad Mole was my favourite of all time. The original 07 theme still brings back memories of my cousin and i killing the Giant Mole when we were absolute newbies. The introduction for the song gives it a really nice touch that you were about to fight a boss that likes to run away from you, it is also the the inspiration for my IGN.

Keep on Molin'
