I can't believe you guys are even going to poll this. You know that most old school players are against micro-transactions. A good portion of us quit due RS3 due to them.

Mod Mat K even stated that bonds bought by old school players will not be used to fund old school, they will fund RS3 .

I can't wait to vote no to this

one of the main reason i enjoy os runescape is because its one of the most legit game out here. Almost all games now have micro transactions. That really destroys the gaming experience a lot.

That was the main reason i quit rs3. And also the game got to easy then.

These are the 2 main points you have to be aware to keep osrs players happy.

This is a joke.

I had to check the date. I thought it was April 1st again.
When Solomon's/bonds/squeal of fortune came to rs3 was when I really began to hate it.
We left the joke of a game rs3 to get away from all this.. And now you're asking if we want it again?

Make Shades of Mort'ton chests give bonds. End of story.

No way that would happen. how does Jagex make a profit? Jagex is a business not a charity! lol

Secondly. No for 3 major reasons

1) Not in the spirit of the game as a player could simply "work" for his runescape gain using wages from an occupation. Not really the point of working in game for the sense of achievement. Especially as Mod Mat K said that 99 prayer was calculated at £300. Which to me is quicker to earn in real life than it is to get the supplies for prayer training.

2) It's Just not "Old School." There's just no sense of Nostalgia in a retro game imitating pay methods of a newer game.

3)A small minority actually are for this - I can see a big outstanding no by just skimming the comments on the thread. I would probably say that the minority in favour of this are leaning towards RS3 players who didn't mind the Micro-transactions - but most OSRS players will find this not for them at all. Legagcy is avaliable now and does have bonds btw! *hint*

So bonds bought for OSRS will most likely not be for funding OSRS :( . Rethought about whether or not I truly wanted bonds for OSRS but if "It is very unlikely that money take from bonds would directly fund OSRS" I don't want some micro transaction for our game that isn't going to be funded for our servers.

OSRS rs is put on the side and the dedicated players are treated as "second hand subscribers" is what I have a problem with. Pretty sick of the higher ups at jagex holding back the game in favor of rs3.

Don't know what I'll vote until the poll comes but probably gonna def vote no.

OSRS is all about the grind. Nothing is easy in OSRS. Bonds will destroy that. No more admiring people for the gear, skill capes ecc since everyone will have doubts on the validity of their accomplishment.

No to bonds in OSRS.

To the mods,

I think bonds should be added with certain circumstances.

1) It can only be redeemed for RuneFest and membership (Which is already stated for those that didn't bother to read the main post)
2) It is limited to how many you can buy (probably at most once a day, limited to the account and if possible the IP address as well to avoid people making new accounts to buy more bonds)
3) If possible, append to each username how many bonds they have bought with cash (not gp) IE: I right click a player and click "show bonds" and a message comes into my chat that says "Player has bought 17 bonds" I would think this is do-able, but I am not entirely sure.
4) If you could keep some sort of count on Bonds, try to find a way to remove players from the high scores if they have bought a certain number of bonds within a certain time period , (like 50 in a year or something). This would keep the high scores clean of anyone who "payed-to-win"

Depending on what can and can't be done, along with statistics that have already been laid out (like $500 for 99 Prayer), I think this would have a slightly better (but probably not enough) chance at passing. I would like this to pass because I have been thinking about buying bonds through gold swap, but am trying to find a semi-reliable source. This reduces the risk of scammers.

Also if you were to state what exactly the increased revenue would do to the community. (If it were to increase team size which would increase quality updates) people might be more willing to agree to bonds for the greater good.

As a re-cap I think you guys should start a new dev blog on this stating the 4 bullets I have listed (if you can do them all), as well as statistics of how much it costs for in game cash, and what you would do with the revenue.

You guys really don't understand. All these con's that you guys are coming up with are already a part of the game because gold transfer is allowed, If i wanted to I could buy bonds in eoc and sell them for gold then trade eoc gold for osgp. All this changes is I can avoid the clans that swap gold with terribly unfair rates, 1:7 os to eoc, 10:1 eoc to os. Basically you guys are voting no to keep the gold swap clans going.
