Leave it how it is I don't want to see bonds coming to Old School not at all really don't and the fact that you mention it bugs me.
Swapping gold from server to server makes the need for bonds on OSRS useless
I mean yeah it is risky and all that but to be honest it better that way rather than seeing people buy there way to max levels/max gears.

You say bonds cannot be implemented without buying them, which isn't anything technical, just that Jagex doesn't want to.

That's fine, but it's not an impossibility, just a restriction the higher-ups have placed on the J mods on charge of OSRS (and by extension, us...poll if bonds should be added, buyable ONLY with in game gold, I bet it'd pass).

One microtransaction is too much.

That's WHY I play here.

If RS3 didn't have cash shops,
I WOULD PLAY THERE
, and there are others like me, I'm sure.

I LIKE the new combat. I LIKE the updates. I LIKE the GE. I LIKE having a bucketload of 99 skills. Heck, I LOVE player owned ports.

I quit over double exp weekends.

I play here, after 4 years away, because of microtransactions.

This probably shouldn't even be polled.

If it doesn't pass, nothing changes anyway.

If it does pass, a good number of people who vote against it may feel strongly enough to quit. People often have much stronger feelings against microtransactions than against a graphics update to obby shields.

If you have information that people are commonly transferring gold (and bonds for gold) between games, maybe we should have a poll to make that illegal. I seem to remember it being against the rules in classic (though I may be wrong). If 75% of people agree it's bad, it won't stop people, but forcing it underground, along with the bots that advertise for it (and likely collect the gold in both games), would be a victory in the situation people are against it.

Bringing more gold into the game will affect gold-farming-skills, so that everyone will likely cut willows to 99 because they see no point in cutting magics (same in every other skill) when you can just "LEGALLY RWT" osrs gold. As you said yourself it is at your own risk transferring gold from eoc to osrs, and those who transfer is cheating like bonds and rwt. Eoc is NOT osrs as you said yourself. This is not community supported since it is against the rules to support any form of rule-breaking, "RWT". Buying a membership is not rwtrading in this kind of way. But buying game items or gold for freaking REAL LIFE MONEY is the worst kind of RWT!

The very fact that this is being considered is exactly why Runescape is dead compared to what it used to be. Bonds, auction houses, and all the rest of that real world trade stuff is terrible for the longevity of a game. You can't give players items and expect them to stick around, go log onto a private server with all 99's and see how long you play without getting bored; building your account and working hard for things is 3/4 of the play experience.

these give the best game experiences;
- afk in NMZ
- afk while woodcutting
- afk while fishing
- click-drop-click-drop mining
... ***

lol first this has nothing to do with the topic also, just so you know thats not how your supposed to train.. Thats really the opposite from best xp rates in game. If you think this is the best xp in game im either guessing your not a competitive person looking to improve yourself as a skiller..... or in general your just not a person who plays to skill if you believe those are the best methods lol.

I would probably vote yes for bonds.

I'm not too put off by the fact that some people will be able to pay real money for their buyable skills. To me that is not fulfilling gameplay, but everybody is different so I don't mind if people build their bank with real money.

And there are some real benefits to bonds. It will save me almost 200 dollars if I plan to continue playing this game for 2+ more years.

Plus, I'm sure there are hundreds, if not thousands, of younger players who want to play oldschool, but are not allowed to spend money on video games or do not have a job to earn money for it. (I know my parents never let me spend money on games until I moved out for University). Having the ability to purchase membership with their in-game currency will help increase the population of oldschool (especially if F2P in some shape or form becomes permanent).

If bonds increase the population of oldschool, decrease the risk of scamming in Gold Swapping clan chats, and allow for a greater diversity of gameplay, then I'm all for them.
