HELL no. Players already have an option for earning bonds through the main game on the same account they use for OldSchool. I don't want to see players' in-game achievements tied to their real world wealth by way of purchasing bonds to sell to other players. No thanks!

Sadly not, that is the pay off for them and something that you guys need to decide if you are comfortable with.

How come you mention the benefits of bonds, but don't discuss the negatives?

A player in RS3 can use real money to buy them self gear in the game. Not too long ago this was considered criminal by Jagex.

In any case, they probably will stay in RS3. People who have wealthy RS3 accounts use bonds to pay for membership on 07, which I think is fine.

EDIT: If you are seriously considering letting people buy RS07 gold with them go to hell.

We're well aware of the issues that this community will have with bonds, which is why we mention that if you want the good side, you need to be prepared to accept that at some point someone will have to buy the bond for real money and sell it for gold.

dear mods. off topic. but now as post is fresh you might have a chance to see this, can you pls bring red portal back but only in pvp worlds? would make me and my friends so happy, we started osrs in hope it would bring back red portal which we loved so much, and there must be a way to stop people from using it to lure ppl. Thanks ! :)

Sadly not, that is the pay off for them and something that you guys need to decide if you are comfortable with.
Well the idea that I always had in my head was that you set an exchange rate and allow people to swap their OSRS gold for RS3 gold but not the other way around. That would allow people to buy bonds with OSRS gold but obviously comes with a few issues like:
• Introduces a ton of gold to RS3 which already has problems with too much gold
• You have to actually decide on and from time to time adjust that exchange rate.
• Would probably require some engine work.

But on the plus side it would create a ton of extra demand for bonds while creating a gold sink for OSRS.

Do it like this and I am for it:

-Offer bonds at all banks in Runescape for 07scape gold
-You can buy it and redeem for membership
-You CANNOT buy bonds with RL cash and exchange for gold

Bonds only work because at some point someone has to pay real money for it, otherwise we are just giving away membership for free. If you want bonds then someone will have to pay for them. That is the trade off that you as a community must decide if you are comfortable with.

I don't think the players here realize you can already use bonds to buy gear and such in oldschool. Player A buys bonds on rs3 and then either trades them to oldschool players for oldschool gold or sells em for rs3 gold and then transfers the gold via a clan or service. All this is doing is legitimizing the process while cutting out the middle man. You also need to remember bonds on oldschool would cost a lot less than on RS3. It's likely bonds on here would go for maybe 1-1.5m ea.
