The most appealing factors about the craters were the penalty and the rank system.
The pure thrill of tanking 1-3 people for three minutes with bankloot was so fun! You could also stumble on people with a penalty and potentially make bank.

The rank system gave me motivation to keep pking and try to get in that top 1000.

IMO, bounty hunter worlds aren't a very good idea because what would be the difference between PvP worlds? The target system, an arrow on your minimap? The loot stays the same so you'd have to gave bonus loot, like statues. But this would bring in a massive amount of gold (converting at Mandrith). Bounty craters solve this by the chance of receiving additional loot if your opponent already has some loot on him. Stuff that was already in the game, so nothing is added.


Craters cater mostly to non pures, whereas BH worlds cater to everyone equally. while I'm sure some pures with 1 def can tank more than one person for 3 minutes, the majority can't, and the fact that the low level crater caps at 67 cb really divides up the pure community in a bad way.

i'd like to see it like a bh world system, but fully restricted to the wild, like make the magebank in bh worlds always enterable, even when teleblocked, have the webs in front of the lever always slashed.

this way the players bank there, it'l be a hotspot, or add a possibility to travel to any of the wildernes portals from the magebank and from the WildPortals to the magebank, something like that.

make the wilderness one giant pker playground in particular worlds.

I enjoyed Craters the most. I started my BH career in F2P worlds, and I still remember the great feeling when I pked my first Guthix plateskirt. And I'm not ashamed to tell that I died to a team right after. Still, soon after that I decided to pay for my first membership.

What would be the best way to introduce Craters to the game?

I think that the original version would be the best, but the possibility to steal a player in combat for bounty hunters should also be added. Keep the target finding teleport, but lower the magic level you need for it. I'm also not sure if one was able to use it while on different spellbook. The deal with skulls.. Alch prices of the items?


Leaderboards are a must --- Adds competition
Pick-up penalty is a must --- Don't make it too easy
Target hunting is a must --- More fun when you don't know who is after you
Craters is a must --- A place designed for PKing, there's no hiding
Multi-combat area is a must --- Teams. Great.

Wherever it ends up, it should probably be single way combat only throughout.

Also, consider adding a points system to give incentive to hunting a bounty. Points could be spent on new tradable gear which would degrade to nothing (the PvP gear sets). As long as it could not be easily boosted, I think this would be a nice addition.

An arena where you can only attack your target and dying or killing your target is the only way out (or until a certain time limit is reached) would be an interesting twist on this minigame, but would also probably be controversial.

A points system would be a good addition or alternative to pvp armor/weps as drops
