The main thing I liked about BH craters was the hi-scores. To get a good hunter rank you would have to be a decent pker and it was very easy to find fights in that compact area. But then there were also tons of rushers and teams camped in the middle to pile targets.

What I liked about BH craters will be available should the Colosseum pass so I don't want craters.

As for Bounty Hunter world mechanics, no. People who want to fight already know where to go to find people so the target system is really not needed. Plus there is no incentive to hunt and the pvp weapon/armor keeps failing. Badly.

tldr version: no to both, Colosseum meet my needs

maybe make it so you get a target based on your level and where you are pking. you get points for killing your target. points can then be spent on supplies, (sharks, super sets, p pots), combat experience, or maybe non-tradeable cosmetic items to show off your PKing abilities. you would get points depending on how much you risked based on alch value, and would receive your opponents drop as normal with no penalty.

You're talking about Bounty Hunter worlds and not Craters. You're talking about the 2010 ERA and not 2007. Please look into stuff before commenting ;)


Yes that is what I'm talking about, if you read the opening post that is what this thread is mainly about, what we want, the craters or the bounty worlds.

i think bringing the craters back will only divide the limited pking community even further. also, in the crater days you basically had to be at the highest level for each crater to be effective: meaning you had to limit the stats you could get on your account to be (for example) at the top of the medium crater rather than the bottom of the highest crater. Bounty worlds made things a bit more fair for people of all levels, and for myself it was a bit depressing running around a plain, boring grey crater.

Verdict: I think the best way to implement this system would be as a toggle option on existing PvP worlds and 1 or 2 regular worlds for wilderness only. If you toggle bounty mode on, the game will generate a target that is also hunting you. Anyone can still attack you outside safezones, but your target could jump (interrupt your fight) even in 1v1 zones. If you don't want a target, toggle bounty mode off and keep on pking normally while enjoying the new influx of players to attack.

And finally, i think the best way to get people interested in targets is if new degradable pvp weapons and armour are dropped ONLY from killing a target, similar to vesta/statius etc back in the day. This will be useful only to PKers and act as a money sink. Speaking as someone who made hundreds of millions off statuettes in the glory days, we really don't need them messing up the economy. What I loved about the bh worlds was that everyone was confined to a single area in only two worlds. Since everyone was limited to such a small amount of worlds and only allowed to pk in the wilderness this caused the activity to go through the roof. Think of it this way when there are pkers in one clumped area it will attract more pkers to come and kill those pkers which will then attract even more pkers to come and kill those pkers, which causes chaos, but chaos is what makes the wilderness grow. The problem currently is that there are too many worlds. What happens is pkers gear up to pk but they don't find anyone, so they just get bored and leave, causing the wilderness to die. With area and world restrictions there will always be someone to pk and you'll never get bored. Another thing I loved was the target system, it was like going on an adventure every time you got a target. Then you would either hunt them down or find a way to outsmart them.


AGREED. Bring out old Bounty Hunter Craters PLEASE the exactly the way they were (But not multi like they were in the first place)

I doubt anyone shares my opinion but if their was BH worlds I'd literally want to PK all day every day again like I use to... Maybe the EP was a bit broken, maybe you could earn EP with kills or Killstreak but then you got the whole boosting issue but there must be some way of restricting that. Killing the same person twice in a row, whether both players actually hit eachother, how long the fight was, the use of spec or KO weps. But I wouldn't know if that's possible to monitor... Bounty hunter craters I don't care for.

Definitely agree with keeping the old BH the same with the crater. Keeps people from searching forever to find their target. That and the RS world is too big to be enjoyable with too few multi pk places. However, adding a reward would kill the economy as it did back in the older RS. People would just wait and boost for artifacts or other rewards.

im saying flat out no. im sure plenty of people are behind that as well. pking is great as is. LOVED the wildy expansion though i would like to see a good amount of upgrades to skilling without the huge risk.
