The Siege of the North.

After the crushing of the Goblin invasion, why would there be reason to believe Gielinor could ever be threatened again?

However...
High on the frozen tundras of the uncharted mountains there stands a troll, in the brisk northerly winds he hears rumors of allies being slain at the hands of pesky adventurers in service of the kingdoms of men.
His name is Axehandle, as trolls are named after the first thing they try to eat, as a troll-ling he was discovered by an explorer, who's hatchet he immediately tried to snatch in his jaws.
He craves blood for the loss of his brethren, and blood can only be spilled in large quantities in one way... War.

Days go by peacefully for the world of men, unwary of any foul brood to the north. Axehandle summons to him allies from the Troll Stronghold, the Ice Platue and the colonies on the Fremennik isles, as well as trolls from the far corners of Gielinor.
But they are not alone, remnants of the Goblin Hoard once under the command of snagwort come to pledge their allegiance, with a blood oath. With them come Orcs' from across the land, ogres and corrupt men also marched in, with no allegiance to anybody but their new master, Axehandle.

Their forces were ready, their plans made, thousands of individuals wait on the call to march into battle.
"One by one..." Axehandle proclaims... "The free lands of Gielinor will burn!"

The battle begins at Burthorpe, the huge hoard of enemies, led by the mountain trolls and their generals, swarms down from death platue towards the castle. Their path is blocked by a temporary palisade erected by the local defenders between the cliffs and the warriors guild. The defenders are backed up by brave adventurers who have heard the war crys and screams, a scout in the mountains was able to raise the alarm.
The trolls breech the defenses, regardless of the defenders efforts, and the enemy march on the castle gates...

The battle is bloody and brutal, and eventually all the efforts of the defenders are in vein, the castle falls and the town is in ruin. Those who could flee ran south and didn't stop, the town of Taverley is their refuge.
Before the trolls can advance further reinforcements arrive from Falador and fight back against the enemy hoards, the battle remains a stalemate with neither side able to drive the other back, but it's not over.

One cold day an adventurer slew the Ice Troll King in the caverns north of Nietiznot, this loss angered all trolls across the world.

Axehandle has a plan for vengeance, as a fellow ice troll he grieves for the loss of their king. Whilst the front is held south of Burthorpe they send an army from the Troll Stronghold across Trollheim, they march through the dueling circle and along the road heading west, past the secret back door (that for some reason not even they know about).
Here they meet their first resistance, some rouge trolls allied with the folk from the mountain camp, backed up by adventurers on their way to battle against rock crabs, and those seeking black masks in the cave to the south.
Between the narrow wedge in the mountains many fall where the road meets the open plains on the Fremennik tundra. The trolls break through and force the resistance onto the plains, the occupants of Rellekka hear of this and send their forces to battle the oncoming army from the mountains. From the North come more trolls, they had broken into Keldargrim by digging tunnels, the dwarves fought viciously back but were kept too busy to aid the Fremmannik warriors. Before long the inhabitants could no longer stand their ground, some fled west to the lighthouse and to the outpost, others sailed to the many islands to the north.
Rellekka was burned to the ground, in just a few days Axehandle had crushed any resistance, he laid claim to the towns ashes...

From remaining timber and lumber from the forests they construct a fleet of crude, yet float-able, vessels and prepare to sail to the Fremennik isles. They first land their full force on Jahtizso, and level the town, the survivors fleet into the mine and barricade themselves with their previsions by collapsing rocks cutting off the cave, all the while their half-insane miners chip at the stone to build a tunnel to get to Neitiznot. Everybody else flees for Nietiznot by other means, via boats or risking the lands north by making the dash for their lives. Soon Neitiznots' walls are full of adventurers, Fremanniks and Civilians, here will be the last stand, Axehandles' total goal is the devastation of this town and all who lie inside.
Very long hours pass by, the stillness before battle is unbearable. Archers stand on the walls with views of the fields below, the waves lap against the shore gently.
Neitiznot is surrounded and cut off.

Dawn approaches, the few hundred defenders are waiting on the walls and behind the barred gate, the sentry on the tower sees a ship in the distance, the time has come.
The first vessel lands to the west, it's catapult hurls a large rock at the tower and damages it. Trolls and other beings pour off the ship, they charge straight for the gate, archers shoot back and cut them down, the vanguard wavers and is soon crushed.
Some time soon passes, another ship comes into view across the horizon and a rock is launched into the sky from afar, it slams into the wall and throws people off below the point of impact, the wall is damaged but not destroyed, repairs soon begin.
More ships land, rocks are fired onto the town smashing buildings and injuring people.
Hundred of enemies disembark, others attack from the north. They attack the western wall with grapple hooks and ladders, after some time they bring a ram to the gate...

The gate is breached no matter how hard the defenders try, the enemies surge inwards on the town, combat is now centered in the town, building to building, alleyway to alleyway. Slowly, step by step, the trolls drive the defenders back, the wall is lost, those stranded up there are rescued by ladders hoisted up further east.
The battle reaches a stalemate in the center, the geyser provides the no mans land that neither side can move against.
Suddenly a troll ship slams into the southern wall in the middle of the town, crushing it, the front lowers and enemies pour out. Everybody is forced to retreat to the last buildings with the spinning wheel, they save the bank chests and set up a temporary bank by the plaza tower. Here is their final stand. On the other side of the water, over at Jahtizso, other trolls watch on in anticipation, their goal has almost been reached.
Axehandle makes his move and heads to the front line, but here he is vulnerable, here he can be taken down by the defenders, his death would cause his army to flee and be cut down, all over the world, as they have spread further and further.
That Siege of the North has begun, you decide how it ends!

Thank you for reading.

This storyline post was my suggestion for the forum, I'm suggesting a world event much like the goblin invasion involving.. you guess it, Trolls!
I'd like to suggest that all areas effected become multi-combat areas, all foes should be reasonable levels (60,70,80) and non aggressive to anybody below their level, the event would occur on every world, but made so that it doesn't effect quests or activities (quest npc's and yaks could be moved?).
It would last for a few days perhaps over 2 weeks, with each battle occurring several times a day so that everybody gets a chance, before moving on to the next stage. Also could walls be made so you can see npc's below? (like castle wars outer wall).
I'll leave the details to you!
Thanks for reading and please support this idea!

Original message details are unavailable.

important thing in Old School. The community make the decisions on what content is included in game, you decide what we should be doing and you can see the results this is having. The community is positive and the game is in a really, really healthy place.

if we make the decisions why not poll F2P? we all want it and i think you know we all want it.

Idea 3

The concept:

Basically slayer but with skills, you get an assignment from any skill master, except slayer/combat ones.
You could set which mode you would like the task to be set these modes would be:

Treasure hunter
- Your tasks would be gp centric & you would be assigned the more profitable things
to complete for your task.

Knowledge seeker
- Your tasks would be xp based & would give you assignments that would be the best xp
methods for each skill.

You can get assignments for any skill except combats/slayer, these would only assign things
you have unlocked, so no ape atoll course for skillers/pures etc.
You would not lose or gain any materials used or gained for these tasks.

Example assignments:

Treasure hunter:
Fish 250 lobsters.
Cut 200 yew logs.
Light 12 torches in morytania.

Knowledge seeker:
Hunt 300 red chins.
Catch 300 of the barbarian fish.
Cut 150 emeralds.

There would be assignments for each skill at all levels.

Rewards/the point?

Each task (harder/higher would give more than lower/easier) would be given a rating,
there could even be a speed (how long did it take?) factor to boost points for those
who put in more effort. This rating would be translated into points awarded for each task
completed.

Points shop:

100 - Herb/runes/secondaries pack
150 - Xp lamp (only usable on non cb & not slay) These would be balanced so as not to be op.
---
The higher reward slots could be reserved for such things as:
imbue d axe to be renamed the dragons inferno (could be an orange w/ black handle d axe) which
would have the ability of the adze (wont be a pick tho)
a potion flask that can carry 6 doses (up to 3 of these)
a gem bag
herbicide
really any of the skill features people may want could be added to this as rewards

I'm just going to say it; Add a new construction game for the games room in a POH. A Runescape themed chess would be epic, which you can link up with the prize chest in this room, so if you beat the host at the game, you win the contents of the chest.

Or, just include Conquest because that mini-game was amazingly constructed! I love games of logic, but there is no reward in Conquest for RS3 because I don't play anything else within that game. However, in OSRS, having Conquest would include this amazing feature into the game which is just pure genius and fun, but it will also give people more freedom of content to play around with and more incentive to continue playing the game!
