While I am very happy with the update and changes which were recently made in favour of overall game balance, I was wondering what the reasoning is behind not asking for player input beforehand, for example stating that a nerf would be made but that players could suggest ways on how to do it and their reasoning behind it?
This way, better alternatives may be considered and perhaps both sides would understand each other better. Of course, there will always be people opposed to the changes, but I feel like the end result would be a lot better from the first try. One way to implement this system could be by using "beta worlds" such as the ones currently used for fight caves in cases like this.

0.1% damage boost? If your max hit was 1000 (which is obviously unreasonable) a 0.1% damage boost would increase your max hit from 1000 to 1001 lol.

Just because Twitter has a 140 character limit and people write an entire thesis on Reddit doesn't automatically qualify them as experts to direct the game in the way they believe it should be taken; furthermore this change was made after a single day of arguable no deliberation. Elite Void range seems a suitable change but the Serpentine helmet fix sounds more like a rushed move in order to quiet the Runescape mob that was rioting in W2 with their Dwarf Cannons and retribution prayers than actually hearing the voices of the players and fixing those issues at hand.


Agreed, Jagex really should listen to people on twitter more often.
The fact that they nerfed an item that was far from OP and then quickly try to fix it shows that these things weren't thought through really well and just made high-tier pvm more unbalanced.
A more normal solution would be if they'd remove the serp helm's strength bonus and bring back the original venom effect.

The original venom effect didn't make sense. BP and TSOTD did not apply venom to things that were just attacking you.

You are aware they nerfed void because it was too strong in PVP, NOT PVM. Right...?

Void in my opinion got an issue when you don't lose it on death. The fact that you can just go pick it up again and repair it is sad. I have no issue with it being 20% or whatever as long as you cant just use it over and over again. I remember myself back in the days loosing it time after time, ive prob been at the boat getting void 15 times because it was lost on death.

People should stop complain so much, like this really effect's pvm that much? This is atleast making pvp alot better and fair.

In a couple of weeks people will be adjusted to this update and stop complain.. Just wait.

At least they reacted. It was a long overdue update. Be happy they brought some of it back.


I thank god they did react, that was more than they did in RS3 days. But even so, this whole circus of events was avoidable and unprofessional.

It has only been a circus because of the loud minority(iron men and pures). Granted it was a lot at once, but the reaction from those affected is insane. The items and boss weren't removed, they were lowered. It's like complaining that the d chain was devalued by fighter torso and bcp .


If there wasn't any problems with it there would have been no negative reaction nor the need to 'fix the fixes'. This situation is messy and unprofessional. And the principle behind their actions has resulted in losing trust from the playerbase.

Maybe you weren't around to witness exactly how RS3 got rekt. If you were, you'd be angry about this too.

I have been playing since classic. I have adapted many more times than yourself and the average player. This is not game ending like the loud minority are making it out to be.

And you seem to forget, we voted for EoC. It just wasn't what we expected.
