The slippery slope argument doesn't work here. We'd only get micro-transactions if 75% of the community wanted it.

...just saying it might as well.

Presently I can make my own way in old-school the way I did in 2006. Even with all the bots back then I could still profit by gathering and selling or by offering services.

The GE removed something from the game that we keep calling player interaction with trade, and we understand it as having value. What I keep coming against is people not understanding it's an actual market value, not the intrinsic value of the word "ty" exchanged between two people. Remove the value of player interaction and the pieces to make a building end up costing the same as having someone build it for you, so there's no point being a builder. So in the end you're just as well to buy the building from jagex with real money. That's how it is in RS3, and in my experience it was mainly the GE that caused it. So now I'm scared of anything that resembles the GE.

100% support!, I love the idea of the interface showing the character who you are buying from! this really will help people to buy larger and more frequent stocks!

Awesome Job, without adout the best update i could see ever coming to Runescape oldschool!

Also I would like to just throw this out there. All the people that claim spamming in world 1 is so annoying or that you have to use a third party website to get what you want,
you are on the forums and they do have a section for items.
I know that not a lot of people use it because they choose to use third party websites or to spam in world 1,
but if people chose to use the FORUMS then we would have NO NEED FOR A GE or "auction house."
I mean, back in original 07 the FORUMS USED TO BE VERY BUSY AND YOU COULD VERY EASILY FIND WHAT YOU WERE LOOKING FOR. For some reason these days people think you have to go to a third party site or some ge solution. USE THE TOOLS JAGEX ALREADY PROVIDES. I mean seriously guys, I WOULD MUCH RATHER THEM TAKE MONTHS WORKING ON NEW MONSTERS, QUESTS, ITEMS OR LAND EXPANSION , not waste months to solve a trading problem that could easily be solved by using the tools already implemented into the game. PERSONALLY I THINK THAT IF YOU CAN'T FIGURE OUT HOW TO GET THE ITEMS YOU NEED, THEN YOU SHOULD RE-EVALUATE HOW YOU PLAY THE GAME. Post on the forums or a third party website if you chose and go train something else in the mean time. If you realize you are getting low on certain items post to buy them before you run out.

My hero <3 ....... But Putting in A.h = Softcore runescape :P

1. Dont waste time with stuff that already works perfectly fine.

2. Make more content items, maps, add something new to every skill.

people can go to the g.e - a.h whatever and pretty much quickly buy anything they want to level up any skill they want with a few clicks, to me thats not right they should take the time to go to world 1 And buy these items, it just shouldnt be that easy.

Its not life like.

I really don't like the idea of it happening offline - in my opinion you should only be able to trade when online, otherwise it's pretty much an altered GE.

Although in my opinion I think you should have to actually trade with the person you're accepting the offer from - doing anything automatically without interaction sounds bad to me. Because realistically, how many people will pm someone about their offers?

Back when GE was introduced, I quit the game. And I had my reasons. IMO, Jagex should invent a fun trading system by taking out offline trading. It wasn't just the fewer player interactions that made things boring, but GE made the market exceedingly transparant because of offline trading.

An example:
1 week ago, I bought a full mith set for 25k. 2 days ago, I found someone just buying a mithril kite for 20k. If there had been a GE, he would have bought a shield for 4k, and I would not have sold mine.

The GE allowed offline trading, thats why it made the game extremely lazy. You could get anything you wanted just by clicking on it, for any price any1 might ever put in that GE window, and that was just plain boring. And now, Jagex is planning to do the same to RS again.
