I'm hoping the whole meeting the other player to trade will still exist, people need to meet up and trade.. Yeah there should be an option to sell, the other person should just be able to send you a message or something saying they are interested and if you are online it should say how long ago the message was sent for when you come online.. that way it prevents possible botters selling through this new trading system and it makes people put in the effort to selling and not just posting it and walking away

"Just bring Zy's format to RS. A posting board on the official RS site that actually works (not the current forum format obvs)."

I agree completely, its simple and easy enough to use.

"Don't do this to the game. It's going to completely devalue skills that require you to gather items."

I agree. Seen the impact of the GE allready in the past.

"The GE made buying and selling extremely convenient. But, the cost of that was that players no longer had to struggle and interact with other players to upgrade their gear. Any item you wanted, you could have instantly...if you had the cash."

Again, good point. To succeed in oldschool, you have to find your own way to get your supplies or sell them, this is the beauty of this game - every aspect (including social) of the gameplay counts. Atm, everything is in perfect balance.

Since there are many people supporting the idea and many people hating the idea why not try out the idea for a week or two.

If the idea turns out to be a success, keep it. Otherwise turn back to the trading system of nowadays and work with the players towards a great solution. It is good to learn from updates that can be right or wrong.

Personally I'd like to keep my items in the auction for a week. This is because
a) I may only log in once per week and this seems a reasonable time to counterbalance with real life responsibilities
b) I sell high end rarer items which i may only sell one of per week. E.g. magical cape rack and other costume room furniture.
c) Zy... forums currently removes the trade every 48 hours approximately - I've not acutally checked - and it's frustrating when I sell 9 items to log in every 48 hours to re-list these.

I can't see any downside to long trades apart from it will increase the number of trades for that item. This can be overcome by allowing the user to order the trades by date or by price. This feautre would be helpful regardless of the time the trade is left on for.

It doesn't take a genius to see that OSRS has flaws.

Great idea. I didn't think of that. This is the biggest update so far - it deserves a little more than '75% of bust' like all the other little fixes.

Yes it certainly does have some, I agree with you but the point i've been trying to make: Trading as it is, is essential for the oldschool and makes the game what it is.
I see that we are players of a different era of Runescape, if you don't get my point I don't blame you :)

Oh, I have played through my share of eras. I can log in and show you a yo-yo now if you'd like.

Whether or not AH/GE fits depends on how you personally define Oldschool. There is no official definition. I prefer to see it as pre-2011, rather than pre-2007.
