Just call it what it is. Its the grnad exchange stop hiding that fact. This makes gold selling sites be able to sell their botted items more efficiently. U have to realize that a majority of the ppl wanting ge r bots that want to sell their stuff as fast as possible. I will not be a part of this. Im not going to play a game where the developers give bots an advantage. Its the same problem as before.

How about a small tax on the items selling price if it isn't sold for a certain amount of time? I am pretty sure an Auction House wouldn't like to hold onto someone's items for a long time right? The tax on the time is also a way to keep some money out of the game. If it does not sell, the House takes money and if you run out, it wont be up as an offer anymore.

If not that, maybe a tax put on the item when putting it in to sell based on how much your selling it for? With this, if the item does not sell in a certain amount of time, the cash is "collected" (taken out of the game). If the offer does sell, then the player gets the money back because the house did not have to hold it for long.

These ideas just came to me because of the thought that people want compensation for their work. In this case, the Auction House.

This is the exact solution I proposed a month ago! Great solution I love everything about it! This is exactly how I see the trading solution should be!
Read my idea! (almost the same as Jagex's solution)

I really like the idea of the auction house, and was even happier when I saw the added possibility of buying parts of an offer! :)

As for how long a trade should be up after going offline, I'd like to say this:
I think it should not be linked to when you go offline, but to the moment you post your buy or sell offer;
I suggest it will stay there for, say, 24 hours after it was posted, or until it's taken of course.

The reason for this: I would like to see offers put forward by players at the other side of the world as well, and them to see mine, thus enlarging the possibility of a match.

If trades are taken down just five minutes after the seller or buyer goes offline, as some people here suggested, you'd never have that possibility, and you'd only be able to trade with those people on your own continent - the world is larger than that!

So again: 24 hours sound fair to me.

@all the ranters.

Everything that makes into the game has a 75% vote to pass... If it's not what you wanted then accept that you are in the minority this time around.

Chill out guys, we are lucky to have the best Jmods working with us!
RS3 can only dream of this kind of treatment :P

The best thing about not having the G.E. is that you can trade everywhere in the world. An auction house would make it so we are forced to be in varrock or w/e. The awesome solution to this would be to have more than one auction house. You would not be able to see offers in a different city's auction house from the one you're using. Would be awesome if different towns had their own little local trading hub.

Original message details are unavailable.
A tax should be applied to the auction house trades..that convienance should come at a mild cost. If there isn't one, the old style of trading will likely die which will interfere with the oldschool atmosphere of this game.

With that said, it is so far sounding better then the GE though.

"Players have also asked for the trade to expire a certain amount of time after a player has gone offline - how long do you think is suitable?"

I'd say somewhere around 20-40 minutes.
