Though if you limit how many of each item we can buy automatically then piecemealing might not be such a bad idea.

Lets say Steel bars are generally 800 each.

If Im allowed to sit there with my 2b cash stack buying EVERY single steel bar that enters the house and then sell them off in a giant stack for 1k each and allowing piecemealing, how does that not spell disaster?

If trades are forced to be for the amount listed, then realistically Im going to have trouble selling a humongous stack of any item, so i'll need to split it up into more friendly quantities. This makes it a lot harder to sell items in bulk and deters me from sitting there trying to buy out items.

...which has always been my concern with any centralized, single trade channel system like a ge or auction house...market cornering becomes child's play...

...and unless botting is 100% detectable, trade limits will only harm the legit players, while the bot/goldfarmers will simply add more bots to their stable to get around them...

It'd take a lottt of bots to actually make a real dent though. If you're looking at just one person camping there its much more likely for that to happen than have someone spread their wealth across multiple bot accounts and attempt to abuse limits that way.

well since at this point it's pointless to argue against it i'll throw in some of my suggestions as well

1: place the auction house on a giant island with low level skilling plots to pass time with

2: lets turn each banker into an auctioneer (as a right click option, will still function as a banker obviously) or add auctioneers to the banks around the game (no right click option/no banking abilities)

3: create new buildings with in each major town/city as an auction house

/sarcasm I'd be one of the last people to support an AH, or the GE itself

still voting no to this crap, bots being able to dump their supplies into the AH, then walking away getting more... merc* clans being able to buy out all of item A for X price and selling it for a much higher price (see Avids posts above)

With high end items, it wouldn't take many bots to buy them out...and remember, these goldfarmers don't care about numbers, if stolen cc's are used.

I did not agree to an taxless system. There is no MMO I know of, in which the auction house is "taxless" for using, taxes on MMO auction houses encourage social trading one another. Or do you prohibit trading person to person and rather use some bot system to do it for them that just baits auction bots and monopolies?

I am in favor of this system so far, for I cannot trust the forums nor that one website that I wont speak of its name (nor should you trust that site).

There are downsides to this system though.

There is no quantity buying, its buy all or none. This will lead to flooding of the current shown system given it is tax-less and price manipulation can be done effortlessly. Someone can easy sell huge bulks of an item at different price ranges, effectively killing competition from others offer(s) of the same item. This will lead to over abundance of said item and effectively lead to a disastrous monopoly. It does not have to be a single person either, it can be a clan level monopoly, which has been done many times before in RS3.

Prices should have an "suggested" value. The problem of great catastrophe I have found in OSRS since I began playing again, is people using prices from RS3's GE for starts and great monopolies from such.

At time, I cannot think of anything more. Though I am sure there is other things I do not agree or see to become a major problem. Probably will make another post of "issues" I think of as time goes.
