@ModMatK As long as buyers and sellers can both check an option to buy/sell piecemeal.

If the seller allows the items to be bought piecemeal the buyer can decide how many he wants to buy.

What I mean though is that say I put a buy offer for 500whips and check this "Piecemeal" option. Then I can go to bed and wake up to 3 whips sold to me buy 3 different people. You know what I mean?

There is no offline buying. The buy option will simply bring up a list of the current sell offers so you can look through them.

The problem with allowing players to only buy part of an offer is that it might impact on the price you can sell the stack of items for.

If there is a demand for large amounts of an item then you might be able to sell a stack of 1,000 for more each than a stack of 100. That might mean if someone buys 500 at the asking price then it will be more difficult to sell the remaining 500 at that price.

However, would giving each seller the option to decide whether they can sell their stack of items in just one sale or piecemeal solve the problem?
How it fixes the problem that you have stated? I mean you still can buy half of it and the problem will still remain the same, won't it?

If a seller believes he will make more money by selling the item as bulk he can stop players buying it piecemeal.

How could someone possibly make more money selling in bulk? With automated trading the idea of bulk purchases goes out the window. If I can buy something for 1k gp each in small quantities really quickly rather than buying that one person huge stack for 1.2k each Im going to take the small quantities everytime because they'll add up to that large stack anyway.

So that person would just allow his items to be sold one by one from his giant stack anyway. He has absolutely nothing to lose by doing this lol.

Some people will do the opposite because it will be quicker to buy them all from the same stack.

Good suggestion to deal with piecemeal/bulk

Yeah I vote on making a two way option for both the seller and the buyer. The option to look for offers in piecemeal or bulk or both for buyers and sell in either piecemeal or bulk for sellers

Ahhh Okay. That makes sense. Thanks.

One issue is that there will be no limits on items u buy e.g. whips tridents ects . So if a clan of merchers bought the whole market they could basically controll the market and if they didnt sell individual items .would suck. Would there be a limit of the amout of.higher level items you can buy?

So far it seems people are mostly opposed to offline trading.
Remove the feature to trade offline and I could see this project being a success.

The survey we held shows the opposite, in that 68% of votes wanted some sort of functionality to trade when offline. Perhaps we could limit offers to staying in the auction house for no longer than a week or something?

The survey you held shows that 57% of players wanted fully offline trading, 11% of us felt that changing worlds or going to the bathroom shouldn't cancel an offer so a short grace period would be appropriate.

I was one of those 11%, my vote would be changed to a no should you offer fully automated trading whilst your in bed getting your 8 hours of beauty sleep.

There are enough no votes on both sides of the issue to kill off your auction house, the way forward lies in the 11%, both sides might vote yes for a compromise that allows limited offline trading rather than unlimited.

Yup, I mentioned that we can limit it a little while ago, how long do you think would be suitable?

Hmm, this is a tricky one

It looks better than the GE because you get to see who is selling and buying

The one thing I don't like about it is that there isn't much player interaction. Similar to the GE when you accept a trade it just happens autmatically.
Could have have (at least as an optional thing) a button or portal that lets the players meet in a personal space to trade?

Certainly much less than the five days you mentioned, perhaps offer go dormant after an hour offline and re activate on log in so you don't need to relist them every time you change worlds.

You could also put a longer time limit on how long a listing lasts.

Offers should be canceled completely after a few days just to keep the A.H. cleared of listings priced so wrongly they will never complete regardless of online status.
Ha ha, made you look ;)
