We don't need a new skill......

Update Priority Poll question 1 states that 11% want a new skill as their first priority. That's the 3rd highest. It clearly states that people would like a new skill.

Why is farming ignored for this skill? :\ there should be at least a bracelet for a reward or something rewarding. It doesn't need to be a task.

There are totems that increase your harvests as well as totems that teleport you to a random patch. No idea why you might want to get randomly teleported but OK. :)

People just had to click something and felt that choosing the same thing several times was boring. :/

Basically all items can only be gotten while on a task? what's the point then?

I'd get 99 to unlock all these rewards but would have to do a million task still to get a chance to make the totem I want? no thanks.

Artisan Tools (mining, smithing, woodcutting and fishing)
Artisan tools can only be made when you have the corresponding artisan assignment. The only exception to this is the artisan’s pickaxe and hatchet which can be made at any time after you reach level 85 artisan. These items are tradable and each time you make one you will receive both artisan and smithing XP.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

I mean doesn't that make the Artisan's Pickaxe and Hatchet completely devalue the dragon pickaxe and woodcutting axe?

If you read what they do it makes the items that are worth 4-5m completely useless. Thus making the wilderness bosses you've just added dead content already. I don't want to say c'mon Jagex get it together, but c'mon Jagex get it together.

If the artisan picks/hatchets have all those extra bonuses while skilling then just make them as good as Rune as a top off, or perhaps somewhere between dragon and rune, but not as good as the highest tier...

Edit: And you can't say anything about the combat stats, because I don't think anyone goes around training combat with a pickaxe or hatchet.

Also, people's priorities have probably changed by now. If they re-polled what the priorities were I highly doubt a new skill would be at the top.

That's pretty much how granite mauls, rune boots, abyssal whips, dark bows, and other high-level slayer content works. Someone has to get to the level before the item exists.

To create the artisan pickaxe/hatchet you need to have a dragon pickaxe and hatchet.. sooo it actually would increase the value if anything.

voting no, none of the rewards are worth training this skill.

-the herb fillets are useless.

-why would you use a 2h crossbow if you can have a better and faster 1h acb.

-the axes/hatchets. you dont level your attack? use a dragon hatchet at the cost of one less inventory space.

-nobody will bother crafting or using carvings.

-totem effects are bad and mostly useless

-slow burners, well, why dont you just use an endless fire. there are alot of them.

-combined runes. only okayish reward.

-cons shortcuts, nty if they dont last forever.

- bracelets "when on an artisan task" if i dont want to level this skill those items are useless to me.

- clothing, most effects and stats are useless.

stop wasting time for skills that dont add useful stuff to the game...

dungeoneering added at least chaotics, artisan is as useless as divination.

The Artisan's pickaxe/hatchet is made from a Dragon pickaxe, so there actually won't be any change in demand there (similar to how Zamorakian spears are still valuable despite being entirely useless compared to the product they're made from), but the other new pickaxes/hatchets will definitely devalue bronze-rune axes.

But then again, do we really care if rune axes are worth less?
