Been playin since 05 but tbh, the starting from total scratch is really not worth it , i know i know the harder the game the better it is, but many of us have lives now and don't go to junior school anymore, maybe most of you are still stuck in that old era but most are not, so i am saying at least give a 50k(30k is plenty also) starter pack so that it would be easy to train rather than begging for mithril scimitars or something like that, many of my friends who started with me don't play osrs because of it's start from total scratch idea.

Discuss, should 50k be given.

It's better than begging for money or items,Rune scims are alone 30k, how do you expect us to train and level fast, leveling slow is definitely not in our mind anymore unless you still are the same as you once were and have no job also.

People will make advantage of this starker pack. People will create new accounts for the money or people design bots to do this. It will have impact on the economy so that's why it doesn't happen. Further I think people rather want to achieve everything by themselves instead of getting a good starter kit. You can do much in 2 weeks...

Have fun playing f2p :)

I would like to ask what is wrong with F2p. I got couple of friends to play runescape 07 but now there have happened a problem. He can't log in on his account although he made that account couples of ago, it says that has to member to be log in to game. Anyone else similar problems, could anyone explain this to me?

Thank You.

I haven't played Old School on this account yet.
I want to play Old School, but I don't want to buy membership at first because there's no point being a level 3 member when you can't do much different than f2p. I'd rather play f2p until i have a few levels under my belt, and THEN buy membership.
So I made a new account to try it out, but I feel discouraged to put any time into it because it's not a username i'm really familiar with, and 2 weeks isn't enough to put levels under my belt in order to buy membership and get in the game. Perhaps I would be more encouraged to join in if I could play on my main, and if I had a more significant trial (2 weeks?! I can get a lot done in 2 weeks, but not THAT much!).

I have 2 accounts that i play with and they both have osrs accounts. But when the trial started it was not for runescape players that were playing currently you made it for new people. I was going to check out my other account because i forgot what was on it, but i cant because i still have to be a member to log into osrs. This is stupid and you lost out on membership on 1 account because i cannot determine what is on my other account. You were too interested in making money getting back the old players you forgot about the current players.

I'd be content with 1 or 2 permanent F2P worlds. It would be fun to PK on F2P again.

Read a few pages back and saw someone saying something about advertising membership to F2P players, and I agree with that. I remember way way way way way way back in RS Classic when there were these really cool banner ads that warned you about buying gold, sharing accounts, giving account information, scamming, and all sorts of bad stuff like that.

I loved those banners. They were helpful since I was a gullible little 9 year old at the time (2001-2002). It was all about player safety and community, not about the money. They could've had ads in there that paid for the spot, but they didn't. I don't think they had paid ads there until RS2 came out. There's plenty of empty space around the Old School screen. Don't overwhelm new players, but tastefully advertise to them again. Look out for them.
