How to add F2P:
1. Cut the servers (saving $$ which can make up abit for F2P)
2. Add a limited amount of F2P servers (say 5)
3. Ads on f2p worlds, probably won't bring in a **** ton but at least it's something
4. Facebook, miniclip (is this site still popular), etc.
5. Advertisements on facebook etc then let word of mouth do the advertising

Especially for the word of mouth, go to a school and give them a football with "Jagex" or "Rs2007" on it, people like to play football with a lot of people together and automatically start wondering what Rs2007 stands for and google it or/and talk about it with each other.
With the world cup ahead football will be a big thing again, so even if you give away a football for free it might bring the cash back over time.

Great read, thanks for the comprehensive information.

Kudos to Mod Weath, prices of skilling materials have been rising steadily for a while. Botnumbers must be going down indeed. Thanks team for prioritizing this.

I'm looking forward to seeing the community become more vibrant, if F2P gets added after this trial thingy. Pures and newcomers won't be so expensive anymore.
Isn't it strange that so many players blindly apply to clans, without ever wondering why there are openings in that clan?

Think about it, did you google mitre when you were a kid? That's plastered on loads of balls and I know I never did.

By word of mouth I mean people will find it from adverts/just bump into it, then they will message their friends "yo i found this decent game on facebook u should play with me, its called runescape, ill give u some items to help u out"

Let first time f2pers have a unlimited f2p, while people that end their membership only have f2p for 2 weeks after having first logged in

This way genuine f2pers will have their time to try the game and eventually become member, and people that disable their membership can't abuse it, but still try out the game 'after taking a break'

That may be an option in the future, once we have seen how this trial goes we can look at the data and decide what to do next.
honestly it wouldnt be fair to players forced to get member cards and still dont know how to play the game and cant aford to play everyday but buy cards for holiday events only

This is great news to hear :D F2P would be great to have it permanent on OSRS. Also, its awesome that Weath has been doing really good at banning those bots !! :)

I don't know what to say about the autotyper thingy but everything else I am excited to see.
