Only a 2wk trial? Seems like most people won't bother playing it or paying after it since the membership fee isn't worth it for OldSchoolScape. I expecting this to be abused by bots, since it seems like the anti-botting is going well but not too well. And just disabling yew trees doesn't seem like a very good deterrent.
Overall I'm surprised so many people play OldSchoolScape. The games changed a lot from the original 2007 version (which I'm not even sure I wanted). This is a rapidly dying FUN server. I played it a bit, burnt out before I even did all the what used to be considered f2p. Only look forward to the weird updates like this new skill coming out that make it not longer an OldSchoolScape but a 2007 or 2008-ish+. I feel sorry for anyone that's invested a lot of gameplay to this and gotten attached because I don't think it can last without serious steps, not little trials that'll be lucky to get a few 100 new players.
~Tried to be serious, but now it feels like a rant. Oh well :3

F2P would be a great addition to oldschool but i feel as if there would be no need to disable certain items if the distribution of bots is on the decrease, disabling yew trees for example would change woodcutting dramatically if there is no new content after level 30. If these changes in certain objects in osrs were to happen i think that there should be an alternative to that skill so it's not limited after a certain level, e.g. level 50 woodcutting trees etc

Regarding to F2P worlds, Is the two weeks fixed? Or at some point you could extend it for further research?

Also for near future for membership, bonds is amazing idea of expanding into OSRS.

Would their be possibility to get the emotions/animations, the same ones used in EOC?

I think this is great. I really hope the best for you guys and i'm excited for autotyper. The only thing now i would love for you to look into would be something like coinshare but with out G.E. it's still awful to see who your friends become when entrusted into give you cash for you share of the drop with high risk bosses. coin share was a great system and i realize it would be tricky to implement a similar system with out a ge but i would love for there to be a way to team boss kill as a group and have big drops split evenly. because those were some of my favorite moments in all of runescape was getting a 32m split from a god wars drop.

Until Jagex is done with repairing RS3 (Which in my opinion is impossible, it has clearly reached the point of no return long time ago) in the meanwhile, Jagex continues to lose a critical amount of valuable time while OSRS could be gaining a significant amount of players & subscriptions.

Neither of us is perfect, we're all humans and we make mistakes sometimes, but why blindly repeat a mistake after mistake after mistake Jagex?

I seriously can't seem to understand Jagex, and I'm clearly not the only one.

don't feed this troll
He has 498k total XP on OSRS. Don't listen to someone who doesn't even play the game.

Whats funnier is that I checked his XP about 2 weeks ago, and he's only gained 2k xp since then. I think he just stands in edgeville and stares at the wilderness ditch, silently cursing jagex. His xp is probably from XP lamps alone.

You mention in your post the progress you've made to reduce the amounts of bots present in the old school community, however I feel as though you skipped over the mention of players who have been banned with this system and haven't botted. I myself fall into this category, along with many others who have expressed their feelings towards the subject. I have been an avid Runescape player for over seven years through different accounts for different periods of time on each. I grew up playing the game around the time that 07 Scape is set in, and when I learned of the release instantly made a new account to start playing. I began as most players did, grinding skills to make money, and soon had decent stats (in my mind) and a small bank to work with. I made a small tight group of friends, the majority of which I skype with regularly when we play, and continue to do activities with them to this date. Where my story is headed follows the time after I spent a week or two chopping 3.2k yew logs to pay for my very own dragon axe. Throughout my time chopping these logs I was complaining every minute of it to my friends, and joking that this would turn me into a yew bot and I'd get banned for this. Shortly after achieving my goal of the dragon axe I hung it up and bought 44 runecrafting. Just as I settled into a movie on Netflix and a long night of more grinding I was logged out of the game and told my account had been locked. I went to the message center as prompted and found that I had been given a major macroing offense and permanently banned. One prior offense with a one day mute for language was all I had to my name. I've attempted to make contact before, however nothing went though. Via twitter last night (5/15) I was told there was evidence supporting my ban, though I believe this to be impossible as I was actively playing and communicating. If you could provide me more information on my situation that would be very helpful. My login was JasenmDickey@gmail.***

STAFF PLEASE READ!

Suggestion:

Bring F2P in
permanently
, so new players won't feel as if their progress is going to go to waste after 2 weeks. HOWEVER, make a VERY limited # of worlds, 1-3 to start so they will be full at all times, which gives F2P players
reason to buy P2P
for less crowded worlds, a
permanent
stay, and then increase the number of F2P worlds as you see fit...

Like others have said, 2 weeks of F2P
will not
be a solution. People convert to P2P as they advance and get higher levels (Eg: Lvl 60 for drag equipment). No one is going to have achieved such stats in 2 weeks... You guys need to look at
long-term solutions
, and not temporary. Permanent F2P means a
bigger chance of increasing player-base LONG TERM
, because 6 months from now,
no one is going to pay
for a product they can't try out first...

I hope this is considered. OSRS staff is making steps in the right direction though, and I support. :)
