- Separate Oldschool & RS3 membership from each other ($5 seems like a reasonable price for a 7 yrs old game, and in general). You won't be losing money as a result of doing so.

I don't think you are looking at the bigger picture here, while I do agree OSRS is worth $5 rather than $8 (While it might seem small on paper, it's over a 50% increase which is huge) and could help new people from F2P subscribe, but if we do that then what about those that play OSRS and RS3? Sure, they could keep the current subscription $8 a month for that, but then what about those that ONLY play Rs3? they will want a price cut too as they don't play OSRS and then Jagex will lose a ton.

Only way I can really see it working out is something like this:

OSRS pack:
$5/£3.20
Oldschool membership only

Gold/premium pack:
$7.95/£5? whatever it is
Oldschool membership
Runescape 3 membership

RS3 pack:
$5/£3.20
Runescape 3 membership
No free daily spins
No loyalty points
No limited time items from SOF
No P2P items from SOF

Both OSRS and RS3 pack will be able to upgrade to the premier pack for an extra $4 per month (rounded up), this would be more used for RS3 with the limited time promos but yeah.

Even then, I'm not sure if that would work out, but changing OSRS price to $5 isn't as simple as you might think

This was just a quick thought:

Isn't two weeks too little a time period to increase the interest in OSRS?

Have you ever considered releasing F2P for a limited amount of time for each account made and when that time trial is over one would have the option to carry the account on by paying for membership?

Just a thought, would like to hear your opinion on TWITCH tonight!

EDIT: A seperate game client for OSRS would be handy!

No, no, no, no, no, no, no,

Have you actually even ever played the Real RuneScape?

I agree completely with EncoreShot, I don't know any wellminded person that was hacked before the emailregistration stuff.
Somehow later, previous top players that actually died years before were even hacked.

The F2P experiment is great news, and I think Jagex is doing the right thing in being honest and direct with us, (hint to EA? :3).

Personally I will keep playing P2P from time to time as I always have and will run 2 accounts, one P2P and one F2P. I have always loved the feeling of F2P :)

Hopefully just playing and being part of the community will help make Old School Runescape more attractive for newcomers :D

If it ain't broke.....

I understand that people want to play free, or create additional avatars for pk'ing, but if bringing back F2P will bring more bots, I have to say it's not worth it. Maybe you should try to determine whether the real demand is from people without membership accounts or from members who want additional avatars. If it's the second, think of a way to accommodate your members without opening the door wide for bots and cheaters.

I dont see where there is a potential for loss if they extend the f2p trial to be all summer. I dont imagine current members are going to cancel their memberships and continue playing on f2p. Days when my membership expired were like the worst days of my life.

So honestly adding f2p... i dont see how there could be a negative impact besides bots.
