2 weeks free trial just doesn't seem long enough, I think most players take a few weeks at least to get to grips with just the f2p aspects of the game and it certainly takes a while to get combat up on f2p (which is the main driving force behind players staying I think). I don't really know what jagex is expecting, do they think on the first day thousands are going to try it and instantly buy membership? there maybe a slight increase in membership over the 2 weeks and for a while after but its just not a long enough experiment, people want to decide to become a member in their own time after they have got to grips with the basics of combat, skilling, items, the map etc etc in runescape. as for the fear of existing members cancelling and just being f2p, that's just crazy lol, once you become a member you don't go f2p again after because of the sheer decrease in content, members items you have in the bank etc. I bet you will see the vaaaassttt majority of members staying members but they will make a f2p account as well, maybe a pker, that would be plan anyways. just introduce f2p, it didn't hurt the game first time around!
