i am for giving you, jagex, more room to change things without a poll. I do however have an issue with you changing speicific content you have polled. Makes me feel that your like: "we want this done, just throw in a poll, if it doesnt pass we will change it anyway". examples of this is the nmz afking, splashing which u polled, it failed and you did it anyway. later on you reduced drops of zulrah scrolls and this was more than a yr after its release, balancing you called it. you make a bunch of "game changing" updates such as the 1 minute pots and how smite works, you call it bugfix. range void is a "bug", karambwans too. but they have been around for long that they have grown into their "bugged" versions. things that have been around for ages and majority of people use are not bugs just because they perhaps dont work as the dev should have thought. i also reacted on the change to twisted bow you made. you polled a sooo specific item, people voted yes on its stats, fire rate, bonus and all. yet you nerfed it after it was released. you called it balancing i reckon? dragon sword which came along with raids are very underpowered, should you just buff its stats to be better than hasta for stab? but i get it, u just nerf dont buff. you could have tweaked the drop rate of twisted bow as that is the only thing u didnt poll, the other stuff: no. THEN you changed the stats of bandos and supreme. monsters that have been around for decades. without a poll. idk how you explain that one? supreme should be good against melee? and bandos was intended to have alot of mage def on his armour rather than lvl because bandos armour is known for having high mage def (irony)?

alot of these, tweaks, balancing, bugfixes and the integrity of the game changes scare me sometimes. what happened to the integrety of democrasy? you already have alot of power in that sence that you can poll what you want, write it how you want in the poll, and given alot of freedom when deving content: wintertodt

I believe that if specific content targets a specific community like veterans, pures, or ironmen, only said community should have a say in it. Also, I like the idea of concealing poll results because people have a tendency to impulse vote in favor of the winning side and essentially rig the votes, which isn't fair, as we've seen in the GE poll and Male Armadyl poll. For example, imagine if the GE poll was only open to those (i.e. veteran players) who created their accounts prior to November 26, 2007, and/or the results were concealed. Additionally, what if the Male Armadyl poll was exclusive to veteran players or players who met the requirements to wear Armadyl?

The Male Armadyl poll lost by 147 votes considering how hundreds were able to vote yes each time to tip the scales in their favor everytime the amount of no votes caught up. It was a close poll, and the losing side, which amassed 11,555 votes, weren't represented fairly assuming the above was the issue.

Aside from impulse voting and rigged polls, another issue entails wording the question and general knowledge of the content. Question 9 stated, "Should the Armadyl set be changed to show less skin on male characters?" As if the image already provided didn't do enough, that wording plays on eliciting the corrent response from players who didn't like it because they felt it was too revealing rather than just stating, "Should we change the appearance of the Armadyl set on male characters to what is shown in the image?"

In addition, it does the game and armor injustice to allow the same change to reoccur reminiscent to RS in mid-2009 and allow new players with no previous knowledge on how Armadyl used to look back in 2007, what it is, why it looked that way, or the value in retaining original graphics and iconic armor appearances in OSR. At the end of the day, it's old school for a reason, and armor that has been around since 2007 should look as it did in 2007 and keep its 2007 look in my honest opinion.

*^Refer to above about poorly worded polls misinforming players about a question's meaning and fire that Jmod...

1. Where tf are the osrs forums?

2. What about Veteran's preference?

3. No don't make content without a poll, RS2 didn't even have a poll system and look where it ended up

4. Where are you getting information in regards to new content such as dragon claws? Strawpolls? Tweets that don't represent the entirety of the osrs community? They polled once and they failed. As an '05 veteran I'm disgusted with this sh*t. Maybe you're thinking "I don't care about your opinion," (or the rest of the community [after you polled claws TWICE]) but the fact of the matter is I (and a thousand+ others) pay for this so you'd better care.

If a question dies then let it die. The only things I see polled (roughly since release) are things that are about 100% guaranteed to pass and that's absolute bullsh*t.

IM confused about the whole thing about Deadman Mode. Youre saying that only people who already play deadman mode have the choice to vote for deadman mode???? But, what if i am interested in playing deadman mode but only if certain things get changed. Why would my vote not count? No, i am not a deadman mode player but im interested in playing it if certain things get changed.( through voting) . Deadman mode is already kinda dead, dont you want more players to play it and make it live?

More crap. Way to foul things up again.

Quit breaking what works well, and quit only listening to 3rd party forums.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

1. Poll reducing 75% to 70%.
2. Poll for specific build.
3. Poll to keep results invisible.

Twitted suggestion ideas, reddit, twitch chat, other 3rd party suggestions, they claim it's for the good of the game, when it actually benefits only people with self-interest who wants to manipulate the market.

I won't be able to tolerate these cock ups anymore, for these few selfish people who decides to take advantage of the game, leaving other people at a lower playing field.

OSRS dev turned soft when nmz nerf poll failed > took years to put a nerf and received backlashes, still went soft with the community.

OSRS dev finally took a hard stance against ahk and 3rd party mousekeys. They received threats and backlashes from the 3rd party community but they took a b/w stance once and for all.

Players will not quit over slightly longer time to grind, because the game is still the same as it is. Players will only quit when there is a full change in the game's core features.

OSRS dev must be firm in their decisions, no more sloppy decision making. Don't buff ely poll because people lost investment in them or they want to mass merch!

The polling system is far from fine @Piksu

Hiding votes is only a temporary fix.

Players will build a general consensus on a poll question when others put it on Reddit and Twitter in a condescending way. These communities will always post negativity - and as a result - everyone jumps on a bandwagon regardless of poll votes being hidden or not.

i very much appreciate your clarification in the "exclusive voting" section. It's nice to see you directly address how the community responded.

However...I think it would be in best interest for that aspect of voting to remain as is, and NOT become exclusive.
I don't want to run the risk of Grey areas being crossed in the future. And just because someone doesn't play a certain mode now, doesn't mean they won't later.
There's already a Skip option for the players that truly don't care.
Everything's an integrity issue if you troll enough.
