there are few disturbing things about old school

1. no way for people to interact and be friends- like the citadel, evil trees, special creations for people to interact friendly. not many actually consider murders a community event. just an onset blood bath.
2. there is no summoning and you keep giving us summoning materials that are obsolete like god eggs.
3. and making us interact with scammers directly - clearly 71 % is majority buy still forced to trust trade jerks. like I said in other posts.

I had 1000 pounds of momentum slam me on a cement floor. I have cronic concussion syndrome, major migranes, and acute memory loose, and when head aches bad I cannot see good. wich I have head aches every day. and I am set up automaticaly to fail and perfect for scammers to take advantages of. and u are helping them. and many others play rs to with problems and disabilities. and many have problems focusing to much to play evolution of crap. but besides that evc sucks.

1) the vast majority of interaction ive had over the years was discussing the game or weather or games, ect. while doing skills. I've made many friends while chopping trees or mining or crafting. others I've made while we were killing monsters in the same dungeon. these are still in the game.

2) the things like god eggs were already programmed into the game before the date the backup was made for the game. they didn't ADD it. They have asked for suggestions on how to use those and other items that have no use because the updates they were for got put into the game after our start point.
frankly my dear, I couldn't give a dam. never had a river to build one on.

I am so happy the G.E. will not be implemented. Trading is a skill and should be treated as such. Getting rid of it gets rid of player interaction and makes the game extremely easy. Also for you people whining about scammers, use your head. Always treat the SECOND screen as the REAL transaction, the first screen means nothing. Don't be a fool and you won't get scammed simple as that.

Trading is a skill? I disagree. And merchanting isn't a skill either. It's a choice.

You can't level up trading or merchanting. I just spent about 3 hours trying to sell a handful of rune and addy junk, and what did i get for my trouble. A bunch of spammers, and more than a few scammers who all tried the money switch to get me to accept a trade where I 'give' them all my items for nothing. I didn't get 1 xp for this effort, and the time wasted standing around amidst a sea of spammers was sure social (sarcasm intended here). The preceding couple of hours was spent slaying with several people I met while working on an actual skill, and we chatted the entire time. So tell me again exactly how trading is a 'skill'. Perhaps you're referring to frequenting 3rd party websites to post trades? How much XP is awarded for that? My friends list is full of such posters, all of whom couldn't give a rats tail about socializing with anyone. I add them to initiate a buy or sale offer, only to find they aren't online. Yeah, a real social winner that system is. So much for your player interaction theory.

I've already started alch'ing many items just to avoid the whole undesirable mess of trying to unload stuff I don't need. Should make the merchants happy anyway. :|

It's not about being a fool, or being taken for a fool. Anyone who simply pauses at the second screen like you say won't be scammed. But who really wants to be standing around for hours (merchants aside) trying to buy or sell a few items? The answer is not many.

To all morons who don't want this update:

-We already have many updates that didn't exist in 2007 already, however small they may be. Hell we even have big ones like nightmare zone, this game changed lots already from 'old school'.

- The Grand Exchange IS oldschool for gods sake.

-Nobody wants to stand around W1 anymore for half an hour selling one item, or constantly refreshing Zyb for offers.

-The trading system we have now is not even originally oldschool to begin with, thanks to **b which wasn't around in 07.

-There is NO current player interaction involved in trading. Unless you count spamming as interaction LOL!

Please give me ONE reason why this update shouldn't go through

AMEN!!!!!

You should update the current trade system by allowing players to see the cursor/mouse of the player they are trading with. So you can see if they are going to remove their cash or if they are going to click accept.

You are right, Muaddeeb, they aren't skills in the literal sense, but they ARE skills nonetheless. Kind of like how being good at player killing is a skill. If you aren't very good at merchanting or knowing what price to set your items at, you end up like you say, spending 3 hours trying to sell a handful of rune and addy junk. I can guarantee you the reason why you are spending so long trying to sell your items and why only scammers come up to is that you are placing your items above market value. I like what the so called "auction" house is bringing, a place where people can put offers on items they wish to purchase, because lets face it, not everyone wants to go to a 3rd party website to do that. Also, I would like to point out to you that I never called it a social experience, player interaction is player interaction. If you want a social experience you can join a clan chat. If you do not have a clue how the market works you end up wasting your time. It's hard out there if you don't know what you are doing, and I like that about not having a G.E.

Seems kind of silly to me that question #1 has passed and question #4 failed in the trading poll.

How is that different from that external website that we aren't allowed to mention? Why are we wasting the developers time to make something we already have?

Oh, so we should make updates based on what third parties make?

No thanks to that.

On the one hand, allowing bids to stay in the Trade-House while a player is offline would be pointless as they are not online to make the actual trade. On the other hand, players interested in buying from this player could more easily plan to buy the items they are after...

So perhaps Auctions should be seen while players are offline, but there could be a symbol next to the name of the player who put the offer up showing if they are online or not. Only for a period of time after being online- I liked the idea of 6 hours, mentioned in the poll.

Fruit for thought, I'm still thinking :)

Wicked work on OS so far you Mod's, Keep up the good work!
