the chat was scrolling to fast for me to see what they wrote..

If you switch to the trade tab and have autochat off you should easily be able to see what they wrote, that's a pretty poor excuse. And I'm a supporter of automated trading.

this is perhaps things a professional merchant would know how to do, but most of us don't spend enough time to be able to do so with any easy. for many people its way to confusing.

...Or it's just knowing how the game works? I thought everyone knew that if you switch to the trade tab, you just see the chat between the two of you lol. And I'm not a merchant of any kind, professional or amateur

How long can you work smithing bars with 250 coal? I'll save up enough money to buy 1k at least to make it worth my time spent trading, and yours. If mining and selling coal is what you want to do then why not spend another hour mining instead of wasting time looking for a needle in a haystack? I was barely a month into the game when I figured that one out.

Ok, so if question 4 not gonna have 75% votes, then we don't see a automated system? Don't wanna give people ideas but it's so easy to abuse it this way, you can actually post fake offers to lower the price or vice versa.

For example: barrows items, a few ppl team up, say they take item Guthan spear, the med price is 6m, they post buy/sell offers 4-5m then med price will go down, real people with item will sell it less if they see "fake" low offers, after they have bought items, they raise it using the same scheme.

Just wanted to point out this, if you gonna do a trading place, then just a scoreboard type of thing is quite pointless.

I don't think there would only be 3-5 people selling Warspears at any given time. I figure there'd be more like to 15-50 on offer, perhaps even closer to the 100 mark. Unless you organized a group of people in the dead of night right before every merchant wakes up so they see all these fake offers in the 6-hour timespan (if even that passes), I don't think think it'd be that easy to manip.
I originally had the name Llama. It was stolen from me.

I'm really happy to see things play out like I hoped they would. We finally are going to have a alternative method of setting up trades IN THE GAME ! I couldn't be more happy about the outcome. Good voting, guys!

I haven't played the game in 6 months and seldom did trades before that. I do remember people asking for that feature, but had no idea it was in game. How would I know of things like this unless I had see it said somewhere? do you really think I know everything? I only joke about being a god, I'm not really one.

the point is, I needed money to buy other things, and was selling the coal to buy it. I only needed around 50k, so I only mined 250 coal or there about. as it was, I ended up needed to get 3 times that much coal to get the money I needed BECAUSE of merchants. IF there had been a ge or even a trade center, I could have gone on to buy (I think it was) armor (or weapon) I needed instead of wasting my time trying to get more coal. IF I remember correctly, I was in the middle of a quest and needed to get better armor or weapons (cant remember which). I didn* want to waste my time getting coal when I could be doing the quest. people buying coal were not wanting just 1k at a time. with as many people selling small groups of coals, it wouldn't have been much of a waste (maybe 3 or 4 minutes) to buy from the miners themselves. unfortunately, the smithers wanted instant gratification, so the miners suffered.
frankly my dear, I couldn't give a dam. never had a river to build one on.

To all morons who don't want this update:

-We already have many updates that didn't exist in 2007 already, however small they may be. Hell we even have big ones like nightmare zone, this game changed lots already from 'old school'.

- The Grand Exchange IS oldschool for gods sake.

-Nobody wants to stand around W1 anymore for half an hour selling one item, or constantly refreshing Zyb for offers.

-The trading system we have now is not even originally oldschool to begin with, thanks to **b which wasn't around in 07.

-There is NO current player interaction involved in trading. Unless you count spamming as interaction LOL!

Please give me ONE reason why this update shouldn't go through

If you would make it like an in-game Zyb (looking for offers, adding them and meeting them up), it would completely take away the whole 'fast trading' solution. I personally think that the already existent G.E. in RS3, maybe with some sort of tax system, would be the best. But since most people probably don't want that, it's not a solution. Now, it could be like the G.E. from RS3, but you can see who you are trading. Also if people want it so that you will be able to put up increments or all or none on the G.E., that would also take away the fast trading aspect. If you want something gone quick or just for a decent price that you know wouldn't sell that fast and you would for instance put 16k of a certain item up as all or none, it would probably sell far less quick than as 1 person is for example buying 431, another 10,000, another 5,000 and another 569. The main thing is that you would be able to buy stuff at any amount very quickly. You should be able to just type or select (like the existent G.E.) your price and there should be a price given like in existent G.E.
Ofcourse should there also be an option to put up buying offers. If you want to buy something and you would only be able to with the auction house through scrolling through the list looking for the cheapest offer, that doesn't save any time. If you then were to be able to sort by price, everyone would do that merching/flipping would become completely different.
Now the only thing left is the offline trading. I don't really mind this but your offer should stay up like 30 mins after logging out for hopping, toilet etc. Either way I can see the point of making progress on the game while you're offline is unfair, but also it would make it much easier. So I guess being able to buy someone's stuff while that person is offline isn't that big of a deal. Just what I think is most important is that you won't have to actually meet up, since this would just be like Zyb and a waste of developping time.
