If Jagex is debating on trying to reincorporate a trading system than it might as well be all or nothing. Back when the first trade update came out Jagex probably lost at least 1/3rd of it's dedicated players and members (My friends and myself included). What brought me back, as well as my friends, was hearing that the old Runescape we had known and loved was back, no trade restrictions, no Grand Exchange, just going through the community trying to find the items you need. Is it harder this way? Of course, but the game and the community as well is much less enjoyable when you have everything sitting at a few clicks of a mouse. Not to mention that much of the community thrives off of the current market in what is typically referred to as "flipping" certain items to become wealthy. After all, wasn't this one of the main reasons in bringing back OSRS? Along with the combat revolution of course. It essentially defeats the purpose of having OSRS. It is comparable to adding a trading system onto Classic. Doesn't that sound absurd? How far are we away from OSRS seeing it's own combat update as well? (Hopefully that never happens) My point being that, in the end, someone is going to be unhappy. However, Jagex needs to proceed here with caution. They could see a rapid decline in players by releasing any sort of trading system, but if they choose to maintain the status quo, I doubt they'd see the same reaction because most of us are content with OSRS the way it is. Sure, it would be easier with a trading system, but some of us don't want the easy way out here. If you're someone pushing for a trading system, you have RS3 right there that you should be playing and getting used to, instead of trying to ruin a classic era for Runescape back in it's prime.
If Jagex is thinking of adding a trading system, they might as well just re-instate the Grand Exchange, because as soon as any trading update is released they will see large margin of dedicated players leave.
