Second, this debate is going far beyond it's intended goal, and the fact that the community is so split on this issue is an even further delay. The point of the matter is to create a system to make trading for players easier, reduce spam and include an area for people to relax from playing the game. In doing so, you bring a healthy amount of players into a common area, stimulating interaction among players and hopefully encouraging friendships and a tighter community, something that has been lacking in Runescape for the past 5 years.
As for the Grand Exchange (our current version), it has been too easily corrupted and disfigured the economy of the game, which is something that 07 should avoid. How do we avoid this? Simple: introduce a trading system that ONLY allows buying and selling within the standardized pricing range. For example, if I have 50k nature runes, and they cost 200gp, they can only be sold on the system for 200gp. Nothing more, nothing less. If there is a price increase, there should be a set department in Jagex for economic management apart from the rest of the game solely focusing on item value and devalue.
The alternative to this is either a posting system (which in other games rarely works) or no updated system of training whatsoever, and we are stuck with Western Varrock a conglomerated mess of colored and waving words, which is highly unappealing to new players.
At the least, there needs to be an area manufactured in the game to be designated solely for trading. The spot where the Grand Exchange is in RS3 is a perfect spot. I'd love to hear feedback from other players about my proposal.
