I am not sure how many others have played WoW but, face to face trading is just as strong as AH trading. Why not just make a system like theirs, that is why there needs to be a tax on selling stuff, so large bulk and expensive items get sold face to face instead, or at a higher price on the ah for "convenience." There is a lot of debate over something another game has done perfectly, so why not just "copy" it in a way. People are throwing away common sense in place of some fake nostalgia, this is the way "rs3" should have went w/o the EOC part. Jagex did something wrong along the way to go from 200k people online to a mere 1/4th of that now. "Old School" should be the game being advertised to bring new people into this style of play, because rs3 will lose to WoW, LOTRO, and several others all day every day because it has the same style of play. Rs2 on the other hand had a unique style, no other game had, which made it in a class of its own, plain and simple.
Is RS2 had a unique style which made it in a class of its own, plain and simple, why does it need to "copy" WoW in a way? You don't know what Jagex did wrong? They removed free trade and the wilderness and provided the Grand Exchange as a substitute. Such a substitute is not currently needed, as the game isn't in a state of ruin. To provide such a substitute when one isn't needed would put the game in a state of ruin, which the GE helped to accelerate back in the day.
