People are gonna pick to buy low and sell high, It just seems like a lot of work and more time trying to buy a certain amount of something than if it was just the G.E setup where the items were just bundled into groups of their price range. The only people that don't want the G.E are the merchers, and they ruin the game themselves by taking advantage of the needs of people and exploiting the prices with merchant bots. At least with the Grand Exchange you didn't see it happening even though it still did. You keep talking that you want the game to be a social experience but you could just do that by making more mini-games that involved more players. Or you could add group quests that take multiple people to do it with(not just Shield of Arrav and Heroes). When people want to buy and sell an item they don't care about that 5 second interaction and I(and everyone else) don't become friends with people they trade. They simply get their item or cash and move on with the game. Simplifying the trading system by putting the G.E into the game would make getting an item or your cash faster so you could actually do your clue scroll or finish your quest. To be honest the game was perfect the week before the EoC came out and should of just continued separately from that and the EoC should of had to start with a fresh account since in one update you changed the game more than all the other updates combined. With all the changes in Old School RS so far the game is far from August 2007. More effort should be placed in ridding the game of the bots that influence the prices more than merchers. People can still make money with the 5% up and down offers on the G.E. Playing the game should be the social aspect of it, not the procurement of items. The Grand Exchange was a very social place pre EoC with people skilling at the banks and maybe you could add a mini-game in the middle to attract more people.

support bro. :)

Errr.. 57% wanted offline trading, that's not a vocal minority.

Ok a vocal minority is not a proper way of saying it, but it's not a super majority.

That was just a result before the Auction House was put together as it was the closest thing to the GE before you described anything.

Most people should have realized that the Auction House makes it fast enough to navigate through offers and complete trades. If you really do look around the forums, most people who are against it say that you shouldn't be able to advance your account while offline.

Honestly after reading all the posts. I feel the safest way being to vote "no" for all of the question.

There's always the portion of voters who were sort of "lead" to vote "yes" on some of the questions even though they actually wanted to vote "no". Not all of us think deeply when voting. There's a big portion of players that just want to vote because well, "there's a new poll!! :) ". And those players would vote "yes" for everything mostly.

I think the zy(b) system is perfect.

I would not add anything ingame. I would add a link on the osrs site to take you to a trading post where you post buy and sell offers, exactly like zyb. Offers should stay for 48hrs unless the user who posted it cancels them. If you're trying to sell an item thats hard to sell (eg, a clue reward), you don't want the offer to go down everytime you log out.

I don't believe there should be offline trading. Just what we have now. Afterall, now we have an official autotalker and a way to filter chat, you can buy specific items much quicker and more easily. An autotalker would seem a bit of a redundant update if we had an auctionhouse type trading system implemented soon after...

Hi Mod Mat K,

I understand (structure) in this and I think some people are not seeing (how) its done exactly. Without a solid foundation nothing will move forward.

Anyway, the Auction House looks good but as I mentioned before (V1) it looked a bit complicated… especially for all of you to create. Some serious programming (grins)

It is a concern I’m sure that when an item(s) is posted that typical lapses in being offline should not affect the status of the post. However, anything game related should be related to game play. Example: I’m in game playing game not sitting on a rocket to moon waiting for cash cow to come home lol.
So yes, a time limit for post while offline. I still have a hard time understanding the (afk) programs people use since what’s the point of (play) if your not actively playing yourself (biologic self).

I understand skilling can be tedious but its part of the game.

Keep going guys* I think the first post summed it up.

Ok mat k quick question! :@ Why do you call it a trading solution if aren't really solving something broken? I mean we functioned without the "solution" so far? Why not call it a trading migration or change? Maybe I'm just being stupid IDK :P

Personally I just think it's silly how you announced something that got people really hyped and seemed like a great all around solution then out of nowhere, just go back on your steps to end up implementing something that changes literally nothing to what's available to us right now. *ybez lets people do all the same, but without a limit on the amount of offers.

Question: Should we introduce a trading post where you can post trade offers which will be visible to everyone? Offers will only appear when the seller is online and you will need to trade through the existing trading system.

If this passes and I make an offer on it and then for some unforeseen reason need to log off will my offer be deleted and I have to repost or will it become visible once more?

Question: If players' trades are visible when they are online, should they be visible for more than 6 hours?

As this question follows right after the question concerning if offers can be seen while offline, has it been miss worded ?
Ha ha, made you look ;)
