i think it should be basically like the grand exchange so you can log out after posting a trade and it wont be taken down and you dont have to talk to the person in order to buy it you can just buy it from on that

"This system is what we will offer first. If this system doesn’t achieve 75% approval, there will be no additional trading system added to the game."

I am confused.

This system is what we will offer first.
Implies you might have completely different ideas on different systems and this is just the first you are offering.

But then next sentence you pretty much say, this is all we will offer. Take it or leave it and get nothing?

First, the basic system is what they're offering. If it doesn't pass nothing will. Next, if it does pass, then all the following questions apply to how much the system can do. So if only the first question passes then it stays very basic, but if all the questions pass it's more like the GE. Makes sense?

It's like saying here's a plate. If everyone votes for no plate then it won't matter what kind of meat or whether or not it should be served with vegetables. They're not saying they have other ideas they're saying the features will be offered a'la carte.

The only people that don't want the G.E are the merchers, and they ruin the game themselves by taking advantage of the needs of people and exploiting the prices with merchant bots. At least with the Grand Exchange you didn't see it happening even though it still did. You keep talking that you want the game to be a social experience but you could just do that by making more mini-games that involved more players. Or you could add group quests that take multiple people to do it with(not just Shield of Arrav and Heroes). When people want to buy and sell an item they don't care about that 5 second interaction and I(and everyone else) don't become friends with people they trade. They simply get their item or cash and move on with the game. Simplifying the trading system by putting the G.E into the game would make getting an item or your cash faster so you could actually do your clue scroll or finish your quest. To be honest the game was perfect the week before the EoC came out and should of just continued separately from that and the EoC should of had to start with a fresh account since in one update you changed the game more than all the other updates combined. With all the changes in Old School RS so far the game is far from August 2007. More effort should be placed in ridding the game of the bots that influence the prices more than merchers. People can still make money with the 5% up and down offers on the G.E. Playing the game should be the social aspect of it, not the procurement of items. The Grand Exchange was a very social place pre EoC with people skilling at the banks and maybe you could add a mini-game in the mi

That post is almost 100% wrong and the voice of a person who never played runescape in 2007 or for very long before the eoc

My opinion and those of most who actually played long before through when the ge was initially introduced and pvp was removed the grand exchange was a great idea to an extent. With offline trading limited to a few hours after logout(for hopping, eating, bathroom, ect), average completed trade prices being followed by more then a few players repeating trades over and over, and NO TRADE LIMITS a grand exchange would be a great addition to old school runescape making items easier to buy and sell saving a lot of time and frustration.

Yes to all the questions. Except for the first question, which I'd say yes make the trading post and no, don't make it so offers are only visible when the seller is online.

If people agree that ANY amount of time is okay to be offline to have your offer still visible, let's say 1 hour only, then that time alone is enough to make it so we would have to get the items/money automatically. Otherwise, I don't want to buy something only to see the seller is offline and have to wait or not get my items. So, we can't have both the offline visible offers and have to meet the buyer/seller in game. We'd need to have both online only + meet in game or just offline allowed + don't have to meet. I vote for offline trading and not having to meet up with every single person you want to trade with. I suppose it makes the game easier, but only in terms of not wasting your time. There's also less of a chance of being scammed.

I think you should be able to have an offer on indefinitely, but only have a certain amount of offers much like the GE. The difference, from what I'm seeing, is that this would be more like a pinboard than a trading system, which is really cool. I agree that they should only be shown while online, and possibly only in the same world as you, that way trading converges into certain worlds the same way it does now.

As for actually alerting the seller that someone is interested in their product, I think it would be intuitive to have a button that, when clicked, lets the buyer send a pm to the seller. It would just be a normal pm, same as chatting someone on your friend's list, but without having to add them.

Even if only the first question passes with an in-game version of that other site I would be happy. If you're required to put up items to put offers then it would cut out on a lot of manipulation and the fact that it is official will get it far more traffic.

This is a great idea!

Sounds like you are pretty much inserting the "zyb grand exchange site" into the game? so that you can see what u wanna buy/sell and then meet up and trade. That's actually a really helpful thing, but also enough. Don't go further than that, we dont need a grand exchange.

That's just my opinion, also I dont think we should be able to trade offline.
