Dear Jagex,

I would love to thank you from the bottom of my heart. I never post on any kind of forums (I just creep) BUT this F2P Obor update is AMAZING! As an Ultimate F2P Ironman, the loot table was exactly what I needed to aim for. A F2P RUNE KITESHIELD DROP!?! Are you kidding me? That's FREAKING AWESOME! Now I don't have to carry around a Mithirl Kite all awkwardly. Best of all, it's a freaking BOSS. And not just any boss, its THE FIRST NON-QUEST BOSS IN F2P!!!!

I appreciate you guys at Jagex, this is exactly what the f2p community needed. All these complaints about low level/mid level players unable to obtain a key is just rubbish! There are plenty of opportunities to attack a hill giant, they are everywhere.

I also love how this update has made me think more critically in my approach to grinding NPCs for loot. "Do I risk my inv. at lava maze or north varrock wildy but have more hill gaints avaliable? Or should I play it safe at Edgeville dungeon and take my time?" I had a similar approach for grinding Greater Demons at the Demonic Ruins!! My friend who is also a F2P Ultimate Ironman died to Obor, and wasn't even mad . He enjoyed the fight and the dynamic of prayer switching.

I would love to thank you guys again! I got so hyped about this while training at dark wizards, that I began telling everyone I came into contact with about this update. They also have positive views about this update.

So on behalf of the F2P community,
THANK YOU!

P.S. after talking to some Ultimate F2Ps, there seems to be a concern around rune full helms losing their "prideful" value because of the risk we took with pkers at the Demonic Ruins. Also rune plate legs are obtainable at the Champion's Guild and was suppose to be a money sink. Maybe replace rfh and rune plate legs with rune axe and pickaxe or a rune warhammer because hill gaints have hammers. But it's a great update with or without these changes.

This Ironman has a great point. This could be the chance for f2p ironmen to obtain top-tier f2p equipment (namely everything rune) without having to become members. I would like to see rune axe/pickaxe and rune scim, etc. things that ironmen cannot obtain on f2p worlds without 90+ smithing lol

But above all else, I want to thank you as well. this week's update was entirely beneficial, the only negative I see was maybe restricting the DMM seasonal worlds a bit too much. its gonna be harder to carve out a safe training spot on the few worlds that are available now.

^Responding to Kind Care

I'm happy to see that you enjoy the update so much.

I don't play F2P often these days now that I can afford bonds, but I remember it was often boring for high-lvl F2P players due to the lack of minigames or high-level monsters.

The firecape texture has been improved so seams are less visible.
Why? This is an iconic part of runescape and I feel little graphical things like this are the reason old school can define it's retro graphics. If we fixed every graphic then we'd look somewhat different but one could easily argue fixing all graphics can lead to graphic improvements, something which is nice but not with old school.

Alternative suggestion: Can we improve old Old School content such as rooftop agility, nightmare zone etc. We don't necessarily need to change the content but for example the animations used on rooftop agility can be improved a heck of a lot.
RIP Forums :(
Finally we have signatures in the surprise forum update. I'm Lewis, I play Old School & I've been playing since 2005.
