I'm still voting no because:

1. The combination catalytic runes sound OP

2. The shortcuts sounds too much like RS3 lodestones

3. Artisan means to create, or craft, not to gather

4. Artisan is a bad idea for a skill

1. Why do you think they sound overpowered?

2. The shortcuts will be like agility shortcuts and nothing like lodestones - for example, building a bridge over the River Lum that you can cross.

3. The biggest part of the skill is creating which is why you can make unique items using the artisan skill. Think of it as a skill in two parts: you gather the materials, then make something with them.

4. Is that because of the first three points you made or are there other reasons?

wasting so much time on something that will be voted down..

That's precisely the reason we are working on it. In the Update Priority poll, the third most important thing the community voted for was a new skill. We have a responsibility to the community to try and deliver what they want. If something isn't what the community wants, we should make it what the community wants and that's what makes Old School great.

And what about the issue that Artisan was the first skill and won by default by those of us who voted simply to complete the poll? There was not an "I don't like any of these horrible options" button I could click.

They're only horrible to you. If you didn't like any of them, then don't participate in the voting. It's a choice, not an obligation.

It's still a no for me. In many ways it fits OSRS, but in others it just feels wrong. Could Sailing be alternative to this if it fails?

If this skill doesn't pass it is unlikely we'll look to do another this summer. So voting no thinking you might get an alternative offered is not a great strategy.

More importantly though, in what ways does it fit OSRS and in what ways does it not?

No. You're wrong. I never said voting was an obligation - but I do have a right to vote in every poll, and every option for a poll should be covered. "No new skill" was not an option.

Because 11% of a poll said that players might want a new skill =/= 75%. This will fail a poll.

Yes. Strong arm us.

"If you don't like this present you'll never get another."

Honestly, in that case I can't wait for this to fail so we never see a new skill polled again.

1. They'd save mages inventory space and crash the price of regular runes.

2. I apologize, then. I misunderstood.

3. I suppose, although I do think it would make more sense if it was in the last dev blog for Artisan, where the focus was creating and less of a side-note.

4. I really don't want a skill that's only benefits can simply be incorporated into other skills, or can be added as a task system/minigame.
