1 month seasons are way to short thats pretty much just a mini game

The Grand Exchange allows you to still buy items and to merch.

DMM seasonal is, essentially, a mini-game. It's not something meant for the long-term.

Will your stats from this season transfer over to the upcoming invitational or is that taking affect for next season/invitational?

EDIT: If you can only trade through the grand exchange then you have to make all ge slots available to use instead of only 2 or it will seriously make buying/selling items a complete nightmare.
