I am challenging everyone to take the time to read all the skills information before voting. Many people in game have said they skimmed over and did not read all the skills. I myself had to read it a little at a time. I think Artisan is going to get botted and to me is a challage system to raise levels fast. Is That what we want. I myself will vote for herding. This skill has no way you can buy a level so the rich can get richer. The concern over catching, people mention sheep herder this can be improved the concept is to use sheepdogs. Herding all the way for me

These seem terrible, Pointless skills. If anything before its open to votes they need to be built on by developers because these skills seem boring. Archaeology is the one I put in, Added new weapons new armour, Other Misc items. In general I thought it would of been a more enjoyable skill then ''Herding'' What the hell is that. Really. I agree on a new skill but these seems like time wasting skills with no real benefit. Until I see an improved version of each skill I couldn't care less.

Still don't get how these are the skills they picked. The Best 50 or so should of been shown letting a bigger poll take place and giving all the ''rubbish'' skills in the developers view get seen by players. There has to be a better skill then Herding I mean come On Sheep Herder is an annoying quest as it is I don't wanna have to do that 1-99

I have created a forum post about the Artisan skill. I have read through your thoughts, but I am confident that I can make you rethink your arguments. It's a friendly post, no hate to anyone.

Please check it out, because the Artisan skill can really be awesome. Also remember that it's just the first concept of the skill, we are far from done!

My amends to the people who created and formed these skills but I don't think any of them fit really well. Out of them all Artisan or Herding is the best but even then they don't seem right. I'm seeing lots of posts about Summoning or Dungeoneering and I agree.. I say Summoning over Dungeoneering all day but hopefully they take everybody's feedback into account and not just force this on us..

I am impressed with the vast amount of effort some of these skills have. Personally, I don't really care for any of them but if I had to vote for one, I would go with Herding. Something out of the way that won't bother me much like Farming. If they made it to where I can raise yak in Herding, I might be interested in leveling it.

Most of my disdain for these skills is that they are quite unoriginal and are based on other ideas, quests or minigames already in the game and I believe Jagex picked these 5 for that reason, so they didn't really have to work all that hard at incorporating the new skill.

All ideas are superb. To whomever wrote the Artisan guide, very nice job in the laying out and format of your document. that was essentially broke the tie.

I think the whole thing seems rushed, I don't think any one of these things sounds like a great skill, I feel like the average 13 year old player could come up with a better basic idea than any one of these ideas. I wish that you'd consider doing none of these skills until one amazing idea comes out and everyone just KNOWS that, that is the skill to chose. Jagex won't do that though, as it likes to jump to the gun and shoot its self in the foot. History repeats it's self.

I mean Artisan is the best one, but even that is written out more like it should be a daily task bulletin and not really a skill.

to be honest if we are going to choose Artisan materials shouldnt be able to be bought to complete tasks.

For example.
Task - Smelt 150 steel bars
should be that you have to mine the ores yourself for them. Otherwise its too easy for it.
