I voted for Artisan. I wouldn't mind having that as a skill, but summoning would also be a plus for sure! I'm totally against dungeoneering coming to OSRS. I always thought of it as more of a minigame than a skill, and it would be overpowerd just as it was pre-EOC.

EDIT: However, I believe that OSRS has more pressing matters than implementing a new skill at this time. For example: a REST option, (Please for the love of all that is Saradomin) trading fix (grand exchange please), home teleport update perhaps (lodestones anyone?). Furthermore, if Artisan passes, can we get a gray and teal cape? ;D

You may be the stupidest player on these Forums. Voting for Artisan, then suggesting rest, a ge and lodestones? Go play RS3.

I think some people would rather have shooting stars up instead of a whole new skill branching off that concept. At least it made mining a bit more interesting and brought a more social group to miners who didnt want to swing a pickaxe as a loner 24/7.

These new entries don't sound great but I understand these ideas were well thought of. Just not sure from looking through this forum thread that people like them and I know I don't. Something more creative might have caught the attention. However is it really the time for a new skill is the real question. we shall find out

Artisan is the only thing that seems appealing to me, it would bring a use to many "useless" skills and just encourage skilling overall.... playing rs since 1976, 40 year vet cape soon

It's not already encouraged by massive cash payoffs from gathering skills?

Artisan is useful but aren't we looking for something more innovative here. Its like saying we are Chinese and copying something that has already been there and done it and for easier ways. It may encourage people to skill more but we want a skill that is unique like each skill that was first implemented. And something more fun. Clan Defy -

Updates ruined the game in the first place... Why do people want more updates??? Leave the game alone!! All of these skills are soo stupid.

This is not the place for posting this. This blog is about which of the proposed skills people like most. Not about whether or not you actually want a skill. If you don't want a skill , simply vote no on the polled skill on the 18th of June.

Anyway, I am slightly disillusioned by the selection of skills here. Looking at some of these skills, I don't know if you can call them skills in their own rights. They're more or less just extensions of other skills or more like minigames.

Ranking from favorite to least favorite:

1. Artisan: Could be interesting as a "skiller's slayer," but I do not see a worthwile "bonus" or good incentive to leveling the skill/reason to level the skill.

2. Geomancy: Basically some version of archaeological and historical sciences. Could be good in identifying and finding artifacts, fossils and the sort. Could see good rewards from leveling. A little too complicated with all that imbuing.

3. Astronomy: I'm not sure if there's enough there for this to be a skill. Possibly more of a minigame.

4. Forestry. I'm not too fond of it as a skill. The concepts are more minigame-like. People work together and run around to work on the forest. At the end of it all, you get rewards... But then what is the point of foresting? What are its actual applications? More of a minigame IMO.

5. Herding. I did not enjoy the sheep-herder quest, and definitely would not like this skill either. This is a head-scratcher to me. There must have been better ideas than this. It's just not an appealing skill.

I'll vote for Artisan, but I'm not sure if I will vote for it to be added to the game- we'll see in June.

lmao the best part of it was he said DG was overpowered, then said he would be for summoning

Also, why not add a sixth option on the poll? (If added, may need a re-poll)

Make this the sixth option: I am interested in adding a new skill, but would prefer different ideas to the ones suggested.

My reasoning behind this is that 5 skills out of 450 is a very small selection. That gives a player a 1.11% chance (1/90) of his/her idea being suggested. That leaves 98.89% of the remaining suggestions left out!

There are bound to be a few repeats though, so knock a couple points off the 98.9%. Even then, there is still a huge number of suggestions that have not been discussed!

This is supposed to be about what the community wants... I think it is important that Jagex has a say, but if you give an incredibly limited selection, the chances are that people won't like it!

I don't want Jagex to spend a whole month drawing up one of these skills only for it to be rejected in the June 18 poll! That would be a WHOLE MONTH wasted that could be used for improving something else.

In all honesty, that is what I see happening. Regardless of whether or not I like the skills, I don't think any of them will pass the poll. Expand the choices or add that suggested (I don't like these skills) option into the poll!
