85 Slayer = abyssal demons

85 Artisan = more yew cutting?
None of the skills are creative really, none of them had any real thought put into it and they expect it to pass the poll? lol

Not that I think a new skill would have passed the poll anyway, these suggestions just help lol

Artisan seems interesting and one I will be voting for although might vote no in the next poll about it unless some things are changed. I'm worried about it increasing other skill's exp rates which I don't want. I don't like the effigies that raise damage. Some additional ideas as rewards would be add ons to dragon pick and axe that give higher chance for gems up to onyx or much higher chance of bird nests.

Geomancy would be my second choice. There were a few items I didn't like coming from it too such as blue garnet's ability to stop freezing, amethyst ability to tele to a spot and Ominous emblem providing +17 str.

Personally I thought some of the sailing ideas were better than all of these, its a shame jagex chose not to pick them simply because they deem them as not new or original despite the fact we have never had them, only talked about them.

Well, i apologize if this seems like spamming but for some reason my previous post isn't anywhere, well, again: These ones don't seem like skills, i know that it's hard to come up with something that doesn't seems like a branch to an already existing skill as oposed to a new skill that overlaps with the others or compliments with another; but these skills don't seem like skills, they seem more like an specific minigame or activity that is being given an skill slot, it's the same mistake as in dungeoneering, or even slaying if you want to go that far, i mean, i think people are only voting for these because they are a chance to have something from rs3 here, i mean, really? astrology? that's the shooting star d&d; artisan: use ALL OTHER skills in tasks given to you by dudes to get rewards? that's slaying but in skilling; Forestry: Use all other skills in a single place for resources/prizes and only get exp for the "skill" by virtue of being in the place? dungeoneering; Geomancy? it feels more like a branch to mining/crafting/runecrafting, like astrology, i find it as a good idea, but not an skill; the only one i find "skilly" is herding, but let's be honest, that one still needs to round some pts so it doesn't becomes dead content, i'm giving my vote to that one, but, it will fail; at the end, people forget that this is about skills, not about activities that hand flashy rewards, high exp rates or are just a replacement for something from rs 3...(that's what the contest won by motherload mine was for)

-First few reminds me of RS3 D&D knockoffs turned into skills.
-Forestry grabbed my interest, but I don't see much point to it besides being able to train a few boring skills all at once.
-Geomancy looks all fancy, but not too impressed with it. Seems like one of those skills that'll either affect combat, which will require more annoying grinding to be effective in combat or just a boring skill to train.
-Herding is cool, but again I see no point to it besides training other skills while training that skill and trying to work with annoying NPCs (I'm sure everybody has had a dreadful time trying to do the Sheep Herder quest).

Basically, Forestry has my vote.

I wish my skill that I submitted or other skills that offered co-op would have been added to the shortlist. Something I can cooperatively train with a friend would have had my vote.

Just noticed Forestry has a sort of co-op mechanic to it. Now I definitely support it :)
Everything stated here is forwarded from a major corporation. Nothing here is my opinion. Enjoy your salad.

For anyone who didn't read, you WILL have a chance to vote NO later on. Right now is the time to vote upon which skill is your favorite. The winning skill will then be put up to a Yes/No poll.

I feel like a lot of people are just going to vote no because their own submission or their favorite skill didn't make the cut. Like if Artisan wins but only has 40% of votes, then those other 60% even if they do want a new skill, will just vote it down.

It was a great idea for a PDC, but too much spite and belligerent opposition to new ideas will doom this, I'm afraid. I think several of the skills have potential and, whichever one wins, I have the utmost faith in the Old School development team to develop a skill that is balanced, fun, and in keeping with the old school atmosphere. Remember that the skill write-ups were posted exactly as they were submitted by players - but that doesn't mean we can't suggested changes and improvements to the winning skill.

Seems like common sense to me. Voting no if your favorite skill did not make the cut makes perfect sense. I am not going to vote yes on a skill which I think sucks. Like all the skills listed. I am not being belligerent. I just don't want any of these skills. Just as not eating peanut butter when you are out of Jelly isn't belligerence. Peanut Butter is different than Jelly and if you don't have Jelly you do not NEED to choose an alternative.

Yeah unfortunately very true. I was actually hoping to see something cool but eh.. a skill is a huge job and these were probably all mentally developed within a couple of days lol. I guess I was a tad optimistic.

Not sure if this is the standard across the board (didn't really look into it) or whether this is a particularly meh collection, but yeah I'll be voting no to any of these sad to say.

I would just like to say that the idea of training to a higher artisan level is that at higher artisan levels two things happen:
1. You have a greater chance of finding loot while completing a task.
2. At higher artisan levels you can craft better items (with the appropriate non-combat skill level and required items.) A few possible examples of what could be crafted with higher artisan levels are listed in the document. (If you don't like the specific rewards listed, well, they are just hypothetical examples.)

That's the basic idea, anyway.

Thanks for posting it a few times buddy but you don't have to post it over and over again :) That'd get annoying for others.
