So, why have Slayer monsters been nerfed?
The whole idea of Slayer is that these are dangerous creatures that are quite perilous to try to fight without proper training.
Now, listed as a "bugfix", you can't even attempt to attack them without the proper level.
I remember running into Slayer monsters when I was new, and being frustrated in hurting them and getting stats drained, poisoned, running away when I realized I was going to die if I kept trying. But then I looked it up and found out about the Slayer skill. It was a learning opportunity.
Now you can't even try. Why? This is pure pointless nerfing of the game. It's the type of update that slowly, inch by inch, turned Runescape from the dangerous-if-unprepared open world it was, into the player-pandering no-risk child's game that RS3 currently is, which alienated most of its playerbase in fits and starts, and made OSRS necessary.
Keep making updates that nerf perfectly fine game mechanics and you'll keep alienating players who want a bit of excitement and peril, and encourage players to expect Runescape to hand-hold them and warn them about every little possible danger.
Let's be clear, this is not a bugfix. This is a textbook nerfing of an existing game mechanic, and for what? To make the occasional player who misclicks a Slayer monster and loses their stuff happy? To give in to people who come in raging because they died before even investigating what they were getting themselves into? The only people this benefits are those who can't think for themselves and beat their head against a wall repeatedly after they are already bleeding. It rewards stupidity.
End rant. Ribbitt.
