seriously, stop ruining oldschool. making friends on runescape keeps people playing ( and paying) longer. taking away the need to do that and allowing for any old random PUG is a BAD thing. trust SHOULD be an issue. even if a player gets scammed out of everything they own, its still more impactful than NOTHING significant happening over a long period of time. drama is actually a good thing. it keeps people talking and keeps people invested. even if they dont like it they feel SOMETHING. which is a hell of a lot better than nothing.

keep loot the way it is. if you wanna bring shards into old school bring in summoning shards. along with summoning. it served as a way to store extra money (which mean platinum tokens would never have been needed) and helped the economy by giving various items value. use dissenter periodcom to bypass censorship.

Not really sure where the hate for Shard Share is coming from. Personally I think Lootshare was the absolute dumbest thing to use for PvM (for how I went about PvM without personal friends). In order for LS to work, you would have to camp w/e boss for god knows how long till a drop finally occurred, and more than likely, if you didnt spend the time of day camping more than the next boss camper, you got no drop. But HEY, you get sweet LS points. So now you are required to continue to camp hoping you have more LS points than the next guy.

Coinshare/Shardshare is the only thing I have ever/will ever use. For people who arent in a clan, or have many trusted friends to go with, or who cannot play 8 hours a day every day to camp for drops, is the only way to go.

Neat! Does this come with the action bar as well -.-? If people don't want LootShare then leave it alone, don't come up with some dumb alternative. It failed a poll so let it go until you decide to re-poll it.

I am thrilled with what the old school team has done here. You perceived a need in the community and are setting out to solve that need. This is the third dev blog dedicated to this solution and you are listening to our feedback.
Regardless of how the item sharing situation works out, you are doing a great job with the process.


I am a big supporter of
no lootshare
because it doesn't solve the original problem.
I am content with shard share
because it solves the issue, trust. Instant Share may have eventually led to problems that would be difficult to anticipate in a free market situation, so this is a good fix.

As for the concerns about the community and clans, I wouldn't even consider leaving mine if shardshare were introduced. Finding a group quickly, and knowing that the people participating are skillful is something that random groups cannot offer.

Shard Share has my support.

What happens if 3 people in a team using shard share crash someone soloing a boss?
Shardshare should only work if the people killing the boss are ALL in the same friends chat. If someone else hits the boss, the system should be disabled.
Otherwise this makes everything a lot worse, as bigger teams will be able to easily crash smaller teams/soloers.
Anyway, I still think any system with "fair" boss drop sharing purpose is not necessary.

Euhm...Why not try to develop a combination of the 2? Like in the old days....You had coinshare and lootshare. Why not shardshare and lootshare? Back then coinshare was a toggle option in cc setup. Why not make it excatly the same like back then?
