I like the idea. It seems like a lot of people disagreeing simply do not understand how it works. Its an immediate split you can cash in at any point that you receive instantly. Not sure what anyone could ask for tbh unless they're really so lazy they can't manage to make the sub one minute walk to the grand exchange to instant sell. This also allows people to potentially make more money from their drop by selling it for what they feel its worth even if it takes slightly longer on the GE. Literally not a single negative. Clans and groups of friends will still be more efficient and fun which is, you know, the point of going with people you know.

When you do coin share it has to assign money to players when the item is dropped. Meaning if its not in demand it will put the offer in there for the amount it's worth even if its not correct, and create cash instantly for the drop. Imagine new items that come out that actually kinda suck and are worth a lot less than their ge value, or the ge doesn't actually have any offers in at the time, so what it does is create money on something that may never sell.

What shardshare does is avoid that, and makes sure there is items made. And having two separate economies means the benefits go each way that is if you can still adjust the price, and it's not fixated on mid ge value, which seems to be suggested from the official post. I would prefer if there where two separate economies for items because like you said you can wait longer for something to sell in the ge for more, you can also wait for something to come into the ge for less. Benefits go both ways, and isn't very one-sided.

As for Clans losing their community, that's bull ****. You know your clan, you know how to work together, and you have a system down. Working with randoms sure, you can get some of the side loot and don't have to split, but no where near as efficient, or with like minded people/friends.

As for people complaining that reddit, or another site is in control of the majority of the say that is wrong. Most likely the same people active on reddit are on here, I read the first dev blog, and majority of the people liked the idea of shard share more.

Lootshare had it's fair share of aspects too, but to me it seems like a way to leech off randoms, in hopes of getting a good drop and then leaving. Loot share would be great for randoms and small drops, letting randoms keep what ever smalls they got and shard share or coin share to split the big drops. Essentially with loot share if you are the people with lowest skills of the group you get the best potential to build up and get a big drop over time.

It's all split more evenly regardless of roll, or experience, the group decides who is there or not so why not have a option to get equal splits all around?

As for polling we should offer at least loot share along side with shard share, perhaps have it optional. It is a lot of work but a long term investment for all future pvm.

To the people saying that the shards will never be worth the same amount as 1/300th of the item price I think you are missing that it will effectively be self-regulating.

If the price was lower then people could make very easy money buying the shards and selling the item, this would bring the price of the shards up, if it was above the price of the item then nobody would buy shards and the price would come down. I think the price of the shards will likely be very close to the price of the item.

I really don't see a well formulated argument against the Shard Share system, those against seem to be voting no purely because they wanted LS or they think it will kill PvM clans. I really don't see a way of implementing LS and LSP with a 100% guarantee that people won't be able to abuse it, it would be a fairly complicated game mechanic that only needs one person to find a hole to abuse. Shard Share would be far less complicated, everyone receives an equal portion of the item and the price, as I explained above, would self-regulate to be around the same as that of the item.

As for PvM clans, if you don't have any reason for people to join your ranks other than to avoid being scammed playing PvM content then you really need to work on your community.

Pretty nice way to prevent scamming, but with the fact that i can pvm with anyone and get the drop isn't a good update lmao, but what you can do is to be able to have shard share, it can only be turned on with your clan, and pvmers that try to crash and aren't in your clan, won't receive any shards.

You must have missed Ronan discussing a feature where you can choose who's involved in the Shard Share system in a clan chat thus not allowing just anyone to gain shards.

On the topic of sharing systems, I feel that Shard Share, while pretty ingenious given the past problems of other systems, can be replaced by Coinshare with some slight tweaks. The main problem with Coinshare is the small chance of being underpaid for an item when it's automatically sold to the G.E. What if there was, say, a minimum price cap to sell at - for example, if there were no high bids 10% under standard market value of a product, it would wait until at least that bid was placed and would eventually sell.

This way, you're not losing a /possibly/ outrageous amount of GP and our economy won't take hits from the auto-generated GP seen in the old Coinshare system. Likewise, each player still receives gold directly without having to hassle with shards.

Just my thought on the system. I will definitely be voting for any sharing system over Lootshare; however, it is probably in best interest to release both Shardshare (or Coinshare) AND Lootshare to appease both sides.

I feel it's important you make a distinction on one thing: the price of the shards should be set as a beginning price of 1/300. From that point it would likely remain 1/300 exactly in value, but who are you to say? The market decides value over time, and if they lose value, tough *****. Set values on tradeable drops can kill a minigame faster than the market can show you where something needs improving.

This dev blogs does not explain to me what happens when a team 'crashes'. I mean this can be used for good: when a solo buddy is doing DK and get's crashed, you go and help him out and push out the crasher. But it can also be used for bad: duoing at bandos and you get crashed by 10x lvl 90's.

Please can someone on the team elaborate how this is calculated?

This seems pointless, why not just have it be coin share then? With the original idea of it being sold in GE.

Why create a completely new system.......when it works exactly the same?

ShaunDreclin said :
Why would somebody buy 300 item shards and combine them unless it was cheaper than buying the item normally? The shards won't sell on the GE unless they're cheaper

Another reason this is a horrible idea.
Shards won't sell, except for lower than they're technically worth.
The original Coin Share idea was much better because it meant that the people who get the drop get an even split of the actual value.

I was in complete support of the original Lootshare and Coin Share ideas
I'll vote no if this is what it chances to.

Also, how are random other drops distributed? Is it an even chance for everyone involved every time?
Like...that infamous Poison Arrow drop from Zammy doesn't mean someone won't get drops for awhile...They still have the same chance on the next drop?

yay love the shard share and cant wait for it and loot share in game :)

Except Lootshare won't be a thing.
Shard Share will replace it.
I agreed with everything being said here....quit wasting development time and reintroduce coin share, not a big fan of loot share, but I'd take loot share over ****** share, I mean shard* share any day.
