Because coins aren't generated by stagnating items with shardshare. There's a reason shardshare works and coinshare doesn't.

1. Not everyone wants to be in a clan, they have certain requirements and I have still seen stolen items A LOT of times! Simply there needs to be a better alternative...
2. We need to bring the community closer together. This will introduce people to each other even OUTSIDE of clans.
3. This needs to happen to stop scamming.. Something like this or just selling the item for highest G.E price then splitting the coin instantly.
4. Loot share had wayyyyy to many loop holes to even be considered and we pointed them out. It would cause even more scams than there are already. ( LOL )
5. I'm tired of not having my friends online or quit then I have no one to boss with. ( Ihave been in 2 clans and both times they have scammed).

I'm fascinated by the politics of OSRS.

I'm mainly a skiller for now, but I plan to eventually do minigames, PVM and maybe even PVP for fun. I've never personally been in a clan - I prefer hanging.

That being said, I think this idea is great. It ensures the option for more even drop distribution without adding coins into the game or forcing players to sell a valuable item immediately.

I would support dividing up stack drops like runes and notes too.

1. Haven't seen any PvM scamming threads in quite a while, not sure this issue is even worth the trouble. Nobody likes to get scammed, but the current drop system is part of the game we love and fundamentally changing it will forever dampen the joy it brings me personally, though I see the merit of arguments for the opposite, I simply disagree. EDIT: Leave splitting to the players. Do not take out another mechanism of what makes up gameplay. I am sad to see the game do more and more work for me. Of course I get frustrated and wish the game could be just a little more convenient sometimes, but that's part of the game. That's the whole point, in my mind.

2. Can we all just agree this update has a sole purpose of serving Corp? Might as well poll it as a new Corp drop system. In addition to not hearing about any big drop scams recently, I don't think I've ever heard of someone scamming an Archers Ring, or Bandos Boots, or even a Zamorak Hilt... Let's call this what it is, which is a tweak to the Corp drop system.

I will be voting no. The current system needs no changes.

The introduction of "shards" to the game seems like an unnecessary step. Sure it is reasonable and better than a random individual getting the big prize, but why put in the extra step of receiving shards, it was indeed the loot share option that needed reviewing according to the oldschool community, coin share was never mentioned in the previous developer blog and wasn't really considered. Coin share skips the step of having the hassle of trying to sell shards, and doesn't need to introduce new content into the game.

That is certainly unfortunate and I sympathize, but I would urge you to join a clan or consult a black-list of non-trusted players. I advocate for the responsibility to be left with the players, instead of creating a system of safety nets for them.

As a side note, if you have been scammed three or even more times, it may be a symptom unique to your own case. I have never been scammed for a drop because I PvM by myself, with my clan, or with friends I made from various clans. It is not a broken system in my opinion.

I'm in a big and pretty high level pvm clan, but sometimes it may be difficult to find a team, even when theres 50+ players online. Shard share would make pvming with random players an option. Also, i wouldnt trust clan members with an ely. Every now and then, someone scams those, even the high ranks.
