To the people saying a new skill removes the "oldschoolness" and they should focus on removing bots...
Okay first, those who would design the skill are not the ones who have the knowledge to program antibot-programs. Other people from Jagex do that. The designers are content developers.
Second, I will definitely vote yes if the skill is implemented well. Games that aren´t updated will die, no matter how "oldschool" and nostalgic they are. Just look at RS classic. No updates, 100 players, 80% bots. The introduction of GWD however had a very positive effect both on high level pvm and pvp.
Also, no one forces you to train it. But the ones who wish to do so have fun and new goals in Runescape. In my opinion, voting no just because it wasn´t there in 2007 is selfish since you basically take away the fun others might have.
However, I do understand if you don´t want it to change the game. For example, adding new, (too) strong weapons or bringing to many items in the game would have a negative impact. And that´s why we poll it.

So, guys, please think for the future of the game we love and don´t be selfish. A new skill will definitely keep us playing and if done right, there will be no or few bad sides.
I am very open for good counter arguments, but please don´t just say
"OMG this will ruin the game I have no idea what the skill will be like but it just sucks and so does jagex because it wasn´t there in 2007".
nice job mentioning something completely irrelevant.. classics has nothing to do with this game also that is a different game in generaly yo ucant just say things like spyro is completely dead cuz its an old game and bring it into conversation cuz obviously its dead..its not even a freakin multiplayer game..classics was also removed in a certain time and history ofc people forgot about its existence as jagex basically forced them to quit for the reason in some time in rs history for a short period classics was removed

I propose to make a new minigame instead of a new skill for multiple reasons:
- There is no need for a new skill at this moment. Only 9 players have currently reached max level in all existing skills. Rank has a total level of 1861 (416 levels to go for max);
- The fact that players have to come up with skill examples shows that there are really not that many possible skills that make sense, so far I need still to see the first good proposal, thus: a new skill will probably be a flop;
- Rewards of a new skill are probably going to be a total game changer, many people will be dissatisfied by this;
- There are only a limited amount of minigames available currently, while they can be great fun.

The minigame could be either single-player or teamwork content, or an option for both. The minigame could be either a totally new idea, or a succesful minigame from RS3.

Why exactly can't we have sailing? We've been wanting sailing for close to a decade now.

Maybe they are already making sailing and it would be pointless to get ideas because they already know what people want for that skill

Lucky skill
Whenever you get rare drop. You will get some coins with the drop. Like if you get abyssal whip drop you get 20k coins with it on lvl 1 and at level 99 you would get like 500k ? Higher alch value drops gives more coins. Also higher level of lucky you get more rare table drops and higher change to get high amount of them. You will add like noted super restore drops brew drops and stuff like that to the rare drop table.

The lucky skill picture would be coins.

I think this would be awesome skill for oldschool because prices of slayer drops and monster drops are pretty low priced. Also there is a lot more pvm players than skillers.
Maybe you should get some coins for dragon implings, tree seeds and runite ores.

None. because the majority of players want to stay in the dark for as long as possible and if someone did try to take out that old lightbulb and put in a fresh one to give some light the community would instantly bring in a petition to put the old lightbulb back :P

The ammount of hate in this thread sickens me. I should not even reply to you doom-sayers but I feel like I have to. Runescape is not dieing! In fact, the playerbase is growing. Low ammount of people online? That doesn't say that the playerbase is dropping. Jagex has hired a full-time botbuster recently, and if you would watch the twitch livestreams every once in a while or keep up to date with what's going on on the forums you would know.

Oldschool Runescape is and has never been meant to have no updates. It's all about what the community wants and if we didn't want a new skill then this PDC wouldn't be here. You one-percenters just have to deal with it.

Hey Jagex,

Allow me to just get a few quick words across on this one. I am totally interested in a new Runescape skill and what it might look like. However, please don't guarantee a new skill. If the community does not want a new skill right now, it should not be done.

If we're polled with options which guarantee one of those options will be released, a lot of people will be extremely disappointed.
