I think a skill in 07scape would be awesome.

Take off your nostalgia glasses. The past is the past, let it stay that way. Depending on the skill that is released, it might actually be pretty cool.

I say leave 07 alone but if a new skill must be added it'll be a Pet training one that you won't raise any combat level and is PVE ONLY and than depending on your pet it can help you out with training attack, strength, defence, range, magic or prayer. A cannon is a great example for this it trains your range up while you train another skill so this pet may help you level up faster to 126. The new content you can find and catch those pets and there will be hundreds of them. When you have a pet your able to train it and make this pet yours permanently or trade them to another player and you'll find rare pets from rare spawns or from a rare boss drop you know.

Probably because the only proven effective way of maintaining players is giving them (usually combat related) goals. Minigames like NMZ, clan wars, and even the wildy rejuvenation to an extent - just don't manage that.

When it comes to combat skills, there's not a lot of room for creativity. I can't imagine a skill as balanced and effective as Summoning and Dungeoneering would be. I mean, they were both refined over thousands of hours of development including all the revisions over the years. It'd be a shame to exclude it because some minority of players are too lazy to put in the effort. Summoning was even released during the current gameframe..

Also, don't ruin this! It's a perfect opportunity to improve runescape from where it went wrong, summoning! and by dungeoneering it was deader then the horse everyone keeps beating. I will be praying to Zamorak that this gets done right.
