This is absolutely ridiculous.

STOP releasing rare items like partyhats, santas etc.. You just killed the prices of them all over again.

Other than that I like the update so thanks ^^

When we first brought the holiday items out it was agreed that they should never be able to hold the value they do in RS3 as they were meant to be a fun thing, but players still want to be able to make some money off them. By releasing them once a year, everyone gets the chance to enjoy them and those who plan ahead can hoard them and make a fair bit of money throughout the rest of the year.

Will this decision ever be reconsidered?

You must acknowledge that rare items also brought a lot to this game. Something to big money market that 3a items will never be able to achieve.

I don't know how many players were actually "disappointed" or "sad" because they never got rares. I don't think that number was high or that their opinion is even relevant when considering rares. It's good for MMOR** to have items that many people know they will never get. If everyone is able to get every item in the game then the game will be bad and unexciting. There was something about old rares that transcended regular gameplay, similar to Vanilla World of Warcraft "Legendary items".

I think you're making a great mistake if you just think about average player and design the game catering to that. Is it not the dreams that keep players playing? Without dreams I quite honestly don't think OSRS gameplay is up to par to offer anything that would keep players playing. Without those dreams, hopes, fantasies the game would be dead. So don't underestimate the importance of "unobtainable" discontinued items.

Where is anti in Varrock?? Been looking for ages now.

Perhaps someone saw him passing through? The gnome child stood by the Christmas tree in Varrock has a good view of the town centre...
