Will be voting no for this because I'd love for the runecrafting altars to stay in line with all the previous ones and also remain situated on the current continent and continue to be part of the legacy that the barbarians destroyed them in an earlier age to oppose their Lunar brethren.
I'd still like the Blood Rune altar to be accessible via Meiyerditch, going through the underground lab discovered during Darkness of Hallowvale.
You could allow us to use construction to break through the door, much like in RS3, however just make it a long winding route directly to the altar without the mutated bloodvelds/crawling hands. With a shortcut from Canifis unlocked with the elite Morytanian diary.
I'd love for the Soul altar to come alongside Menaphos, but if you are insistent on it being released sooner rather than later, then why not add it fairly close by? - the lower dungeon underneath Sophanem and the locust creatures (requiring Contact!) It's a pretty brutal spot, you could also add a safer, but far, far longer route.
You could stick some sort of mining/construction requirement on it to allow access to the area.
If you want to add them to the Abyss as well, perhaps add some sort of unlock/miniquest requirement in order to allow their usage?
I don't think getting 1 exp more from a Soul rune compared to a Death rune is too unfair and overpowered Runecrafting exp, it's about time the skill got completed and can then focus on expanding it further in the future.
For this 'Dark Altar' mechanic, why not use it as a means to empower Pure Essence so that when crafting Blood and Soul runes, we have a chance to create x2? The chance to create them could be based on your runecrafting level (so bloods would be more likely to craft at 99, runecrafting, but soul's would still be somewhat difficult). But the essence has a chance of being destroyed by the Altar and offer less exp?
Also, Omni-Tally/Tiara please??
