This update looks fantastic! An excellent idea by Jagex to keep the game healthy and introduce new sinks to the economy.


Kraken Tentacle

5,000 Hits is fair/debatable... The amount of whips in-game far outweigh this as a problem and will award those who have the slayer level to go farm them. (u*bias: I have 1 slayer.)

Poison aspect is welcome. A new vine whip is cool.

Stat changes - Here is my big concern! This is the oppurtunity to do something bigger! There are pures, and even mains who want to use whips but CAN'T! This is due to shared XP. I believe we should remove the +8 Slash, +4 Strength "so what" bonuses, and finally cater to those dreaming of a upgraded whip. Now I admit, yes I have a max-mid 103 combat with 60 attack that would love 75+.
So maybe this is my bias, but surely wouldn't the outcome of a strength style be the same if you removed the added stats?


Smoke Battlestaff

Generally speaking this is a great idea, but is it enough? I go back to the phrase I used above, "So What?" This will become underused and not valuable to the community. I have no suggestion, however recommend searching for a second item to add to the Smoke Devil boss.


Occult Necklace

+10% To magic damage is a needed boost to balance magic.

°
The added stats still remain competitive to the fury in some situations.


°
Approach with caution... Adding 10% damage bonus may limit future spells that can be added to the game, deemed to "over powerful" with the extra bonuses.

Note: I acknowledge adding a strength option to the Kraken Tentacle would impact the Saradomin Sword, however this is needed. The longevity of the game needs improvements and a whip that caters to PK'ers is just what we need. The only reason Saradomin Sword earns a demand is because it is forced to be so.

I don't get it, lol. Either just poll the old pre-eoc updates as they were or bring legitimately new content, don't bring old content with random new names and dropped from random new monsters - feels like such a waste of developer time.

Also, regarding the arcane stream necklace ....i mean the occult necklace ... wasn't the only reason people didn't want dungeoneering in osrs because of the "op" weapons/gear? So, your idea is to bring the gear, but not the skill lol? (personally I would prefer dungeoneering WITH the chaotics but would be totally fine with just the skill, as it was easily the best skill ever developed; really the only skill that actually ever required skill to be good at).

The game needs high level content for people to be able to work toward or it will die off. But, the community is split between those who play osrs primarily for the pre-eoc combat system - who prefer the game closer to 2010-2012 (myself admittedly included), and those who actually play osrs for the nostalgia of 2007-based gameplay. So it's very difficult to get the ridiculous 75% majrority vote required to actually move the game forward. As a side note, I would vote yes to actually lowering the vote requirement to 60% or so, just a thought.

how about a weapon dropped by a boss hunted by mains, but specially for maulers? like the Kraken drops a ships mast pole.. that has a higher strength bonus than the ket-om and higher crush and requires 80 or more strength, something to close the gap between those without attack and the faster paced att/def fighters. Or maybe a wepon that requires slayer + mage or str like the slayers staff that ultimately would work like the slayers staff to aide against a particular slayer monster or just aiding in slayer in general that doesnt require attack, defense and prayer. We have added enough content to the game for "PKers" but the "PKers" who have been being catered to are those who have attack/defense/prayer nothing really for pures..

A slayer monster somewhere deep in a new dungeon of the Tzhaar City. It will be a Tzhaar like - creature that drops upgraded Tzhaar weapons, IE:

A more powerful Tzhaar-ket-om.
A shield with better stats like the Ket-xil etc

You get the idea.

I think that would be pretty cool.
