I love these ideas, but is 5000 hits for the tentacle whip enough?
I'm glad you guys are going for a sink, but a problem is that if the 'sink' for the whips isn't big enough, IE if people find themselves constantly having to replace the whip component of their new weapon, then the tentacle itself will become undervalued because people will subsidize all the times they have to replace their whips by buying and selling the tentacle for less. This seems to happen naturally as it occurred with tridents pretty quickly due to their almost common drop rate and the fact that they consumed SOOOO MANY RUNESSSS.
I'm not sure how long it takes to hit something 5000 times, but from experience: When getting 99 Slayer I killed about 11k Abyssal Demons, they were easily my most common task. That's 150 HP per kill and it takes anywhere from 4-10 hits to kill one, multiply that by at least 200 to 250 which leaves me anywhere from 800 to 2500 hits per task, and since I gauge most people are getting this task very often (as well as other tasks) we'd find that the whip does not last long under only 5000 hits, and will happen so often that it'd be a nuisance, I'd say those going for 99 slayer would have to buy a new whip multiple times a week, which is more of a nuisance than anything else since we want to be
gaining
from 99 Slayer.
Just take a look at that 5000 number, it could easily be doubled, I think. Voting yes regardless but it does concern me.
Hopefully it'll get a strength training option, then there would be demand for it
