Voting no on the Tentacle because I don't want it to eat my damn whip!!! Give us the Tentacle but don't make it destroy our whips!!!

That's the whole point of this update, to remove whips from the game to pump up their value so slayer is actually profitable again.

Thanks for answering my questions John :) I've been looking forward to this for so long! It's a shame there is no love for range in this update but other than that it's all very promising.

We've still got some wilderness bosses to give some unique drops to, I'm sure we can find something range related.

Kind of passive, I kind of wish we'd get more immediate results in regards to the range problem.

Any word on if you can increase the ranged strength on the ACB though? It should actually hit harder for as expensive as it is.

Or like any other crossbow, a new set of ammo.

Every single crossbow uses bolts up untill their own tier. Bronze crossbow > bronze bolts, rune crossbow > rune bolts.
Arma crossbow needs dragon bolts? Or perhaps armadylian bolts?

Nah, the focus shouldn't be on ammo. You'll be hard-pressed to find ammo better than Diamonds/Rubies to use at bosses, and even harder-pressed to get me to use ammo other than broads elsewhere since that's essentially free ammo that can easily hit 30s.

Unless you give me a stronger broad bolt (which is stupidly cheap), I have no reason to want to deviate from my current ammo and I don't think there's a need to address that.

It just doesn't make sense to me that a bow worth 18M with the same drop rate as a hilt doesn't actually have any max hits over a rune crossbow worth 20k.

Just checking if you didn't forget about implementing a hit-remainder check on the Kraken Tentacle, wouldn't be too great for people to lose their whip mid-combat.
The rest seems OK.
It's a good update because it halts people from scamming with quest req items/the zamorakian spear at Arena.
Giving it a clear 75 attack req and a slight bonus on the same old whip is good.
I do agree that it messes with staking even more, but these things have been overlooked many times, the SoL messing up staking on normal RS and never getting fixed to prevent more scammers from being attracted to these sources of GP, then the SoD, then the hasta.
This wouldn't necessarily make it worse, maybe slightly more confusing.
If the hasta was finally unusable at arena and this wasn't usable there either, then it wouldn't matter much there and all would be back to normal.
Or this gets implemented too and it gets slightly better than it was.
I do agree that for PK and other areas that people are interested in there need to be clear check-ups, like what I mentioned above, a counter, the appropriate hits, usability, what happens on death, bug-preventing and so on.

would definitely like to see a strength option added to the whip. at least on the upgraded version with the kraken tentical. that way its an incentive to train your attack to 75 in order to use but still can only train so much with it before it consumes your whip. it opens up a window for people who would like to pk with a strength option with a 1 handed weapon and not train up attack levels.

The KRAKEN whip (please don't go with the tentacle whip...) is a decent PvM idea but do not let it be used in stakes. That's just absurd. Staking is going to be completely ruined even more-so. (ban hasta from 1-handed duel)

EDIT: No strength option. That's just silly. And the special attack should be PvM based and be similar to the old Vine Whip spec Vine Call. For PvP, it should be up to the PvP community not PvMers.

The necklace should be toned down to a 5% bonus to mage with 10 mage attk and defense instead. +12 with 10% damage increase is going to honestly belittle the 3rd Age Amulet. We don't need an arcane in this game without gear to compensate and at that point we're heading down a slippery slope.

Smoke Battlestaff is an okay idea but it really won't be that valuable unless it had a good design and a low drop rate. (ie. Mud Battlestaff) I do see their use for metals and even cheap kraken tasks, etc etc so I can also see a demand for them.

I also think you should go ahead and add the fragments to the D Plate as chance drops from the new slayer monster. They have to be attached to the Dragon Chainbody.

P.S. Do not listen to people about Wild Pies; if they want them, they should make them. They're an elusive item for a reason.
