Melee has everything you could think of
Range has good armour-limited weapons
Mage has **** armour-more weapons than anything

Also PLEASE allow us to autocast ancients with this staff

I think we're asking the game 'creator's' to be the creative ones. Many people have been misunderstanding this euphoric relationship between J-mods and player base of their game. You have to remind yourself that you are the customer to this game and that you pay to be indulged in it. The J-mods as paid workers can be allowed to communicate with its player base frequently in order to receive critiques and judgment over their game. However, do not take away the responsibilities of the J-mods, as workers, to be able to create new content on their own accord. I would expect them just as the last ten years dictate, new innovative updates can be created when thought is put into it, not re-mask previous installations with new names.

As far as content for this blog:

1. Abyssal tentacle (abyssal vine)- "the abyssal tentacle isn't & will drop as a kraken tentacle on death". Does this imply that the whip disappears in sacrifice of receiving the kraken tentacle? I have no preference whether this is installed or not, just don't see it captivating the veteran's for very long, we've lived this before.

2. Smoke battlestaff - Sure, another slight utility item incorporated. Don't see much drive for players to seek this item out to much past a certain volume within the economy.

3. Occult Necklace (arcane stream variant)- 37 barrage max, provides some mage scaling balance back into the combat triangle.

Say go for it, install it all, never hurts as far as maintaining interests for a while. Apologies if something comes off as brash or inaccurate, just coming from a pker perspective and see the longevity of a game requiring constant dedication to it, both from a player base and its J-mods.

Kraken Tentacle

The kraken tentacle will be dropped by the kraken boss and from the cave kraken at a rarer rate. You can attach a kraken tentacle to an abyssal whip to create a new weapon, the abyssal tentacle . Requiring 75 attack to wield, the abyssal tentacle has +8 Slash & +4 Strength more than an abyssal whip, equating to 1 extra damage, it also has a chance to poison your opponent for 4 damage. The special attack for the abyssal tentacle consumes 50% of the spec bar and it will bind an opponent for 5 seconds as well as increasing your chance of poisoning them.

Really Jagex..REALLY? That weapon basically does nothing, to be completely honest. A bind for 5 seconds helps you in no good way at all. I was hoping for an equivalent version of how the vine whip was pre-eoc. That was actually a weapon that was useful in many situations. But of course that had to be ruined with the super awesome EoC, that has been such a great success so far that you're now working on bringing back "old combat system" and "old special attacks" and "old combat level calculation"... I suggest you now take some serious time to think about these releases so it doesn't end up being a usual and horrible flop.

quite like the ideas but as some other people have said I really wanna see a slayer item sink because their prices drop fast, take a whip for example, the drop rate isn't on par with its price because a lot of people can now kill abyssal. there is however a range of items that have helm their price well and continue to do so, the tzhaar drops. I would quite like to see a similar system as the obsidian cave as with slayer and the rewards you can buy. obby mauls, capes etc have held their prices because a lot of people trade the in for tokkul to buy onyx's, I would like to see an untradeable currency, such as tokkul added to slayer monster drops (uncommonly, and not replacing ordinary coin drops) which can then be used to buy new things like we can already with slayer points. the slayer drop item sink comes into it as well because you should be able to sell slayer specific items, whips, d boots, dark bows, g mauls, brine sabres and maybe more to the slayer masters for this untradeable currency. and with this new currency you should be able to buy attachments for existing slayer weapons, I personally thought of a triple head attachment for the whip which increased accuracy and strength by a similar margin as the tentacle will, maybe a sight for the dark bow which increases range, accuracy slightly and the minimum hit up to 12-12 instead of 8-8. perhaps a hilt guard for the brine sabre which gives a small defence bonus and a small +1 or 2 str bonus, both would be good because they are mainly used by pures. just some ideas but my main focus is to get slayer drops to a decent stable price, just don't wanna be alcing whips because that's all their worth

Whip vine fell because of a lack of demand for it. kraken tentacle will not live up past the hype.

Again the point is we need new ideas, we know what failed in Rs3 so avoid this.

Now can we have support for a new melee helmet/ new spell for modern spellbook. or an add on to an underpowered item - i.e warhammers/ spears/ javelins/ these useless items which exsist but are forgotten.

Whip vine also came out after Chaotics which were a free alternative which were also much stronger, so the demand was hurt pretty significantly by that.

However, I do think that this Tentacle Whip idea needs to be rethought, I don't think this whip will be appealing to anyone except high-levels with damage to do and money to waste, I think for the level 80 or 90 that wants the strongest weapon in the game this isn't a viable option because the whip lasts the same amount of time for them as everyone else but that extra whip they need to buy costs a hell of a lot more to them as it does to me or another high level. At first this idea sounded nice but the more I think about it the more I begin to dislike it.

I'd recommend the J-Mods look at the beginning pages of the thread when a lot of players were laying out a new whip sink involving the Kraken Whip (much better name) that absorbed multiple whips permanently to make it stronger but also dropped noted whips on death depending on how many were absorbed.

I'm thinking this idea wouldn't currently pass (and it seems the smoke necklace is a bit too controversial to get 75% as well with all the PKers bashing it).
