I can't believe the braindead children voting no for sailing, if you don't like it you don't train it simple as that. You have no right to ruin the hype for the others who actually look forward to sailing.

Jagex is trying to breathe life into OSRS by creating a new skill and you're trying to prevent that from happening. Remember when dungeoneering was released? Majority of the players hated it and said it should've been a minigame, look now. More than half of you morons who hated it love it now.

Voting no for sailing isn't keeping OSRS OSRS, it's preventing OSRS from having an active playerbase. OSRS for me, gets more boring for every day that passes because it hardly has content.

I VOTED
YES

Maybe if you try RC, Hunter and Cons you wouldn't be bored..

Train existing skills before insisting those voting no are doing it just so you don't have skills to train.

Can it be that i don't train them because they are insanely boring? You should think before typing. I know perfectly what those skills are about, and that's why i dont train them. I want new content, something that makes the game interesting. I don't want to run back and forth like a monkey crafting runes.

I get it, I get it.. you'd rather swim back and forth like a fish and gain sailing xp for the many random 'fights' you could do..

Better luck next time.

One of the most disappointing things for me about this game is how incredibly rude the players can be. It doesn't matter that this is a game and it doesn't matter that it is somewhat anonymous. There is no excuse for being disrespectful to others.

You're going to disagree with other people A LOT in life and you need to learn how to handle it constructively. Respect others and their opinions - they have just as much right to their opinions as you do to yours.

Maybe the new skill should be Courtesy instead of Sailing. At least that could have a positive impact on the community.

On the Twitch Q&A stream, They said if it failed, but was close they would make the changes the players wanted and poll it again. Right now its almost 70% pass and we need 75. As far as skills they felt that if this doesn't pass then there may be no more new skills for OSRS. I believe this would be certain death for the game (gradual, but certain). Just look at what happened to RS Classic, they have a lot maxed accounts bored for eternity. I want our game to grow and go in its own direction. Don't just vote on a whim, please make sure you consider everything and read the developer blog first.

I don't understand half the people on this forum, everyone is saying they don't want bis gear coming to osrs but its been stated several times it will be polled separately, the poll isn't for the gear its for the skill, the skill itself fits into the game perfectly in my opinion but of course there are always going the be players which are so closed minded that any change they will think it is awful and those players are the ones who are slowly killing the game, osrs needs updates like this to keep it fresh and exciting and to keep players interested and always aiming to do something new instead of doing the same stuff which inevitably ends up in people quitting due to not having anything new or fun to do anymore, everyone is allowed there opinion but just think properly before voting instead of say "new content this isn't osrs anymore"

pirates.

shipbuilding- why use blurite? why not just standard bronze, iron, etc. metals?
incorporate dyes for the sails. family heralds and such

zenyte- why infuzed with onyx? why not just 4 shards = 1 gem, give some crafting exp. too?
I see no reason to use onyx as a building block
gem dust err*hare

That would be awesome.

Ridiculous reasons I've read so far for voting no on sailing:
1. 'new skills aren't oldschool'
2. introduces new op stuff, or one certain part of pitched plan wasn't agreed on
3. too many skills; maxed people have to level again
4. im not interested in doing it so i dont think anyone else is either

???????
Number 1: Sailing IS Oldschool. It's concept was derived as early as 2007, however Summoning took Runescape in a different direction. New content is a good thing, the game isn't a copy and paste version of what Runescape was in 2007. It's grown since then, and as displayed by all previous OSRS updates (such as Zulrah and Cerberus), the Old School team follow strict guidelines to maintain the integrity and feel of the game, whilst still paying close attention to player feedback. They wouldn't have even pitched it if they didn't think it was a good idea which fit into the existing game.
Number 2 is obvious and they've addressed this multiple times: they'll poll all parts separately, especially controversial parts which affect the wider game. If there's a certain part that the majority don't like; it will be changed.
And Number 3 ... what? Wouldn't new content give you a REASON to keep playing on your maxed account? There's only so much you can do on your account once all skills are 99 (or 200m xp if you go for that). Adding a new skill doesn't in any way dumb down your achievement you already have; it only adds opportunity to build on it.
Lastly Number 4 : you're narrow-minded. Can't you see there's thousands of people out there who are interested in this? If you're not interested in it why not just either vote yes or not vote at all, and upon it passing, NOT TRAIN IT AT ALL?? There is NO solid reason as to why you'd vote no, other than your own opinion being transposed into greed. It's been said before that it will be entirely optional and won't be needed to train existing skills.

I voted
YES
